I think 32 is a purge vault that is primed for failure. The water chip breaks in 33, so Betty resettles 32 to save resources in 33.
Also, my Hail Mary theory is that Barb stole Betty’s identity to get in a vault because she was demoted or fired after Coop gets his reputation destroyed. Why would Vault Tec want the wife of a pinko running their stuff? They don’t owe a single thing to her. They owned half of America. If Cooper gets mad and pees on a wall, it’s her.
Now I can ask-why would moldaver put Lucy at risk in the first episode if she knew her and her mother? Why would she put her in a situation that she would end up being stabbed? Just dumb terrible writing. Also, why would moldaver keep Lucy’s mother like that? Like she seems very powerful she would have helped Lucy’s mom as a ghoul-again dumb writing so that Lucy can see her mother as a corpse…. DUMB DUMB DUMB. How on earth did electricity suddenly come on when they used the little mcguffin after 250 years? Like seriously? Like the grid is still ok or moldaver is powerful enough to make sure it is? The simplest reason to keep Rose around was for leverage. Give me the code, Hank, or we show your son and daughter what happened to their mom. Which is exactly what Moldaver did in the end.

Other than being “close” friends, they would need Rose alive for her Pip-Boy to be used. Norm mentioned in ep.4 that the bio signature on the one in vault 32 was 2 years ago. This would relate to Norm finding out how the vault door was opened from the outside. Technically, a ghoul is still alive even if feral.

Not to be that dude, but flags do serve a military purpose as a rallying point for soldiers in the field. It's pretty easy to lose your orientation in the chaos of combat so if you need to reorient yourself or regroup with others, the flag is there as a practical beacon.

Lucy and Maximus could have already met in Shady Sands, both were there as kids. Still unknown how Moldaver survived, but in the outtro is a billboard for rentable cryo-suites and Moldaver had a ton of money after being sold-out by Vault-Tec for her cold fusion invention.
We know that Betty was lying aswell because she told the brother that she buried the Mom. The whole time I was wondering about the Ghouls daughter. They could have a storyline where Maximus is related possibly.
Personally I always find myself cheering for characters like The Ghoul and The Night King. If you put yourself in their shoes. Here they are normal humans that got turned into something else and your whole world taken away from you then everyone hates you when you fight back. I wanted the Night King to win game of thrones because I felt it’s what the world deserved. Kinda like The Ghoul in this wanting revenge against those who made this world.
Btw vault tec did not drop the bombs. What Barb said was a suggestion
There is a vault in the first Fallout game called Vault 12, wich true purpose, not known by the residents, was to study the effects of radiation on residents. To ensure this, Vault-Tec designed the vault door not to close.

I been getting into fallout 76 lately almost to lol 50 and having fun so far and it's like alit of rpgs mmos the end game content is when the game really opens up with like level for good power armors etc
