“He’s sedated” I have a feeling that horse tranquilizers are effectively just a moderate dose of melatonin for him, what a unit!
You deserve all the credit in the world for grooming this big guy all by yourself. Even if you couldn't do all that you wanted to, his "after" was still a huge transformation. And I think he liked you and much of his groom! Thanks for taking on these large breed dogs–some vets even refuse to have dogs of a certain size or breed because of their potential for aggression.
What a handsome boy. I know he was nervous and upset, but man after his bath his fur looked so good! He looked so fluffy! I wonder, was he as soft as he looks?
You’re a brave groomer. My GP didn’t mind a bath he just didn’t want to see water coming out of a hose.

OMG Vanessa – THIS BIG, BEAITIFUL BOY, Sampson made me nervous for you! I didn't realize it until you were done and my body was all tensed up. I figured he was about 200 pounds also. Good idea to let the Vet give him some "Joy Juice" to clip his nails. God bless……❤

Its not that the dog wants to hurt her. The dog is just so big that any action he take can cause harm. He is so scared and focused on his discomfort he won't notice how much harm he has done.
It's interesting how protective he is of his right side. I wonder if he has some vision loss in his right eye that makes him nervous about you going around that side.
Vanessa, I’m constantly blown away by your sensitivity in understanding dog nature. You’re like the dog whisperer. You understand them and try to customize the grooming for the dogs comfort. That’s really sweet. A lot of groomers wouldn’t take the time, plus you do it for free. And as an added bonus, watching your channel is like taking a college course in dog breeds, characteristics and even disorders. Can’t thank you enough.

I feel like he really enjoyed the blow dryer and took the muzzle off to say “you’re safe and this thing isn’t necessary”. Most dogs I see that get the muzzle off are doing it because it’s hindering the “stop it or I’ll bite you” behavior but with this beautiful boy it seemed like he just wanted to relax, like taking shoes or a bra off at the end of a long day lol
That being said he definitely needs to be more sedated for those nails to be trimmed because his body language was entirely different and I could feel the tension through the screen. Good work as always Vanessa 🐾
