The Guncannon is hands down, my favorite Federation suit of the OYW.
I've burned down an insane number of Zeon suits, mobile armors and tanks in that machine. Especially in Gundam Crossfire.

I think the thing that truly shows how inept Zeon leadership was during the OYW, is that they could have made up the losses with asteroid mining and maybe even going further out into space.
wasn't most of this covered in the Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin series from 2015 – i saw it on Hulu years ago

Every time he has to specify about something that could relate to Unicorn, I immediately feel vindicated about my opinions of Unicorn and its treatment of the OYW.
Its a fantastic plot point that eventually Amuro gets so good a piolt his output exceeds the input and this is the part in other gundam series where he would get a better suit.

Funnily enough, this series got me curious to see what the alternate enumeration dates are for B.C and A.D, which turned out to be B.C.E (before common era) and C.E (common era) respectively.
