Since there is no loss accrued to the USPS, they are not in any hurry to expend resources and manpower to "investigate" or prosecute these crimes. In other words mail theft is considered a "victimless crime" by the US Postal Service.
Maybe they should start an armed neighborhood watch and be on the lookout for certain people.
Mail theft is rampant all over. My husband has had both prescriptions and eyeglasses stolen along with both of our identities.
