GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 3: What's Next After Thor: Love and Thunder | Gamora Return + Adam Warlock

Thor: Love and Thunder setup numerous new characters, spinoff movies, and sequels. Even though we’re excited to see Hercules face off against Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’re most excited to see the conclusion of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy with Volume 3. We’ve pieced together some bread crumbs from Thor 4, casting, and teases form volume 2, to present what we think its the next phase for the cosmic side of the MCU.

#GuardiansOfTheGalaxy #Volume3 #loveandthunder

The Guardians of Galaxy didn’t do much in Thor: Love and Thunder. They had some fun action and some banter, but that’s about it.
Which is ultimately a good thing.

Love and Thunder had so many things to get through as is, so the guardians didn’t need an extended role.

Now on paper, Love and Thunder doesn’t really give us much as far as what’s next for the guardians.

But Love and Thunder teases one of the central themes for Guardians 3, and that’s the exploration of gods in the MCU.

And Vol 3 will finally introduce Adam Warlock.

Who has some interesting connections to Love and Thunder’s themes of the dangers of religious zealotry and false idols.

And we need to talk about what kind of Adam Warlock we are getting, because it seems like he will be drastically different from the comics.

Also, Guardians 3 is being set up as the final movie for the team, but vol 3 could lead into a cosmic crossover event, and the introduction of another Thanos level villain.

Alright, before we dive into the theory, let’s first talk about Love and Thunder real quick.

The Guardians of the galaxy are now more than just a team, they are a family, a very dysfunctional one. But they all love each other, in their own unique ways.

Even Nebula is now a full member of this family. In fact, Nebula and Rocket probably became very close, because they were the only surviving members of the snap. Being a team of two for 5 years.

And that must shift the dynamics of the team. Rocket and Peter always butted heads about who’s the captain. But Rocket is now the most senior member of this team, he helped bring back all the dusted. This experience will surely change him, make him more of a leader and less of an outsider.

Though, Love and Thunder does the bare minimum in exploring all of that, because this is a Thor movie.
I guess that’s why the Guardians were so done with him, he was stealing all of their thunder.

Thor isn’t part of their family, that spot is reserved for Gamora. Speaking of, where is Gamora? [clip].

I assume that in between Endgame and Love and Thunder, the guardians were searching for Gamora. But she pulled a Bucky on them, disappearing until the sequel.
But what kind of Gamora will they find?

Remember, this Gamora is not the same as this Gamora. This Gamora is a variant from the 2014 timeline. This Gamora is a skeleton on Vormir…[Rocket: I don’t care if it’s mean].

In case you forgot, Variant Gamora arrived from the 2014 timeline during the time heist in Endgame.
And she somehow survived the snap that turned Thanos and his whole army into dust.

There is a deleted scene that shows that Gamora didn’t get dusted. Deleted scene or not, it’s canon.

So who is Gamora now? She comes from 2014, a timeline where she never met any of the Guardians, she doesn’t share any real connection to them. The only one she knows is Nebula.
But even then, she doesn’t know the present Nebula, she didn’t experience her sister’s evolution.

So this could mean that Nebula is going to be what Gamora was to her in vol 2. Meaning that it will be Nebula who helps Gamora to evolve and finally free herself from the tyrannical control Thanos has on her.
Sure Thanos is long dead, but the trauma he imposed on her, that doesn’t simply go away with a snap of the fingers.

And this is another theme I think will play a factor in vol 3. The idea of rebelling against your creators, the fight for free will and finding a home among family. These themes will make more sense later in the video.

Now let’s talk about what everyone wants to know – Adam Warlock. He was teased back in guardians 2, and he will finally make his appearance in vol 3, with Will Poulter playing him.

So we have some theories about what kind of Adam Warlock we are getting in guardians 3.
But first, let’s explain why he’s such a big deal.

Adam Warlock is one of the most important cosmic heroes in Marvel comics. And he’s easily one of the most beloved characters, playing a key role in the infinity saga.

  1. Who cares? Disney is ruining marvel just like Amazon is ruining Tolkien's work. If you wanna write woke shit make new series don't mess with great works that have their lore and spirit.

  2. After the autopilot was turned off (Endgame), disney has been slowly killing the MCU – which, considering their track record, is canon by now. They f**ked' up LaT so bad, it was like watching a parody movie, Bale completely disjoined from the film, completely incoherent. Gunn is our last hope, if gotg3 turns out to be an extended version of the trailer and a post-credits scene, the entire franchise is dead.

  3. i haven't read comments and usually don't but i believe guardians 3 was supposed to be before the "snap" but was shelved because someone become persona-non-grata… flame on or off but let's hope mcu f4 is much better than it's other incarnations

  4. I hope Guardians 3 is better than Thor: Love and Thunder they could have dropped the Love and made it Thor and Thunder no more back drop love stories please. it should have been more of an action movie, thanks for nothing. Dark Lord is going to teach that golden girl about the birds and the bee's, lol after he gets his God powers back from Ego

  5. wow… i fucking LOVE ur High Evo theory and connecting it to rocket. i dont know bout making him the cyborg maker but could be cool. I like him being a sovereign or maybe a hyper evolved one. OR maybe he's pretending to be some hyper evolved cosmic being but really IS just a durpy lame old hu man who somehow found himself out in the cosmos.. maybe he's not even a genius but like… accidentally made amazing things happen… like random experimenting led him to become good… like maybe he was sent out into the cosmos thru some kind of comic book accident that ALSO sent him back in time. He lands on a planet and somehow accidentally becomes immortal. And thew EONS of trial and error he becomes a master bio/techno/cosmic engineer… or seems to be one to the on lookers. I like the idea of him seeming awesome and then inside that purple suit hes just a Weebu.

  6. WOW… Right as you made the connection I was realizing it also. And if Gunn had this plan all the way back then BEFORE the GotG game… WOW.
So like you said Asha is the High priestess… makes Adam. Adam becomes their god under the brainwashing of his sexy nun golden momma. The use SOME kind of McGuffin for adam's face jewel. Cosmic Cubic Zerconiom? doesnt matter. The whole Soul Stone in general NEVER made sense and it seemed to me like they awere always trying to "make that make sense/work" instead of wanting to use it in the first place… which in turn made it so it felt weird when he DIDNT have the stone later.
Anyway. BASICALLY its the same plotline as the 2021 game except instead of random cult leader / old man miner guy you got sexy golden nun momma. i mean shit… all the golden tech in the game, all the gold everything in the Sovereign. ITS PERFECT!
now i hope they dont ruin the Magus by making him an alternate personality. Him being an evil future version or… what might fit better in current MCU is him being an evil Varient… showing up in Secret Wars… I LIKE THAT.
    anyway…
all i really want is a DEFINED power set that ISNT derived from an infinity stone that doesnt correspond to said power set… IE. Mind Stone = Super Speed and Mental Powers that evolve into Chaos Magic (* i know they will explain it by saying it UNLOCKED their powers… but still how come one is a mutant and one is a stand in for the pheonix. which will rally get confusing when the xmen do get here. ) Space Stone = Lazer Guns, Complete Energy Absorbtion / Manipulation / Super Strength (* could be explained thru energy manipulation i guess) Reality Stone = Smoke lazers? / Turn Dark elves .. .darker???. Soul Stone = … nothing really. kills your favorite thing to finish the gauntlet? i really hate the missed oppertunity of the stones being thought of after the fact. time and power didnt get messed up tho… and at least we saw a legit reality stone used by thanos.
I digress… just give me some non generic cool abilities along with his Carol Danvers Cosmic suepr hero power starter kit of Flight, energy projection, super strength, speed, and cosmic fuckin awareness. off the top silver surfer, galactus, quazar, captain marvel, etc etc etc all have the exact same shit… so just like… gimme something special for adam plus all that goofy stuff and ill be happy. save magus til later.
