UN Says Israel’s Operation in Rafah Could be a “Slaughter of Civilians” | Vantage with Palki Sharma

The crisis in West Asia continues to worsen as Israel prepares to go ahead with its military operation in Rafah. The recent ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas have hit a dead end. The goals of a potential Israeli offensive into Rafah are not clear yet. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is adamant about completely wiping out Hamas from Gaza. A few months back, Israel claimed that thousands of Hamas fighters are hiding in Rafah; however, the Israeli Defense Forces have not been able to pinpoint their exact locations. The UN has already warned Israel against an operation in Rafah, saying that it could be a “slaughter of civilians”. Over a million Palestinians are currently residing in Rafah. Will there be a ceasefire in Gaza or is an escalation inevitable? Palki Sharma tells you more.

  1. Hamas should really stop blackmailing Israel into attacking Palestinians. Saying you won't stop raping and torturing Israeli citizens (per another UN statement) unless the IDF fights all the way there to take them back by force, well, it sounds Hamas is the one that wants this, not Israel.

  2. thousands of phone calls, text, and tens of thousands of leaflets dropped to warn people to go to a PREPARED safe zone, in a war?? No army goes this far out of their way to PROTECT civilians, which they have ZERO requirement to do in a war thrust upon them, and they haver to put up with this question? Absurd bias against Israel, as USUAL…

  3. Slaughter of civilians? How can the UN make blanket overt statements without providing details? There’s a lot of uncertainty about the UN’s support for terrorism, duplicity and corruption. The UN has not condemned the Oct 7th attack that started the escalation. Any sensible person understands that using hostages and Palestinian human shields is absolutely unacceptable to gain a Hamas political victory.

  7. India has long support Israel, because of dislike for muslims. India needs to be impartial, it was also colonized. The age of colonization is Over. If China, Russia (BRICS) can keep India on side of Eastern Civilization it would balance out colonizational efforts over hundred years. But India is racist.
