Headquarters: World War II has been a pleasant surprise this week. An XCOM like turn-based strategy game where your battlefield tactics are as important as your army management skills. Lots of factions, good selection of units. Come check it out.

Am I the only one noticing a large amount of the menu and UI looks like it was copied from CoH1?
coh turn based
The howitzer looked like a 105mm. The priest is also a 105mm artillery peice.
Missing a couple of Rs there, chief.
I feel like I'd be more interested in this one if it was a RTS, but then it'd essentially be CoH1 but not. I do love the persistent unit feature, which homeworld is famous for but also that new terminator game you featured recently as well. I hope more games of this type utilize that feature more in the future, as it makes the story you play through have an element of your own, and losing one of your veteran units hits harder that way.
Between this and terminator I feel like we need a good old shack community campaign with patrons
CoH1 ui must have been a mod at first.
Slitherine feels like the new modern reincarnation of SSI, and that's actually a good thing.
Idk calling it an Xcom-like feels like a stretch and a misnomer. It is a tactical strategy game, it’s closer to, say, Fire Emblem than Xcom. Without permadeath and random stat level ups.

Hmmm seems we’ve come full circle with that music huh.
(Millennium Falcon Deathstar Theme)
It kills me that these kinds of games are only ever in a WW2 setting. I'd love if this game was in a style reminiscent of Star Wars or 40k.
Let Agrippa know
even the missions are the same places as CoH 1, this might be enough for Relic to sue these people lol
Looking glorious
Not sold on this game, because COH1 and 2 exist. Also house got brought down around an enemy squad's head and only 1 guy went down?
Speaking of home world I have to ask shack. What is your favorite home world? Personally I give it to deserts of kharak.
wait, how did you make the little cover shields visible ? can't find it in my game ^^'
if you like bringing units from one fight to the next you should try their strategic mind series.
This looks an awfully a lot like a TBS version of Company of Heroes…
So xcom ww2?
Looks like a digital version of Bolt Action the tabletop game.
Careful: when your units "spot" an enemy, they stop and don't complete their movement order. That can leave them in the open (like that one infantry squad) unless you order them again.
Hell yes, this is just COH1 I love it. I have wanted something like this for sooooooo long!
Your artillery piece is likely a 105mm. Your Sherman has a 75mm. The greyhound and Stuart have a 37mm. Very cool game!
you put too much swoop on the T LOL
If I remember right. The artillery is most likely a hundred and fifty-five millimeter howitzer
boooo turn based is for disabled people
They straight up ripped of the CoH1 UI LMAO
That main menu looks copied 1:1 from Company of Heroes 1, like it's a total conversion mod, rather than its own thing.
Looks really good, but needs balancing in some areas. Why would the ruins of a house provide less cover than a knee-high wall? Chance to hit a unit 15m away at like 37%? Nah… But looks promising!
U should know Shack back armor is plot armor (winkie face) G_G
