Indie games are living proof that you dont need the latest tech, the most realistic graphics, or any of that other bs that "modern" tripple A$$ games think works.
lol, shadows of doubt. Josh (from lets game it out) tried and broke it. Was awesome. The game not so much, but for an indie, impressive.

Except for a few most of these looked mediocre at best. Some of them even looked like trash mobile games, both in graphics and gameplay.

I was laughing hard at that Latin American graffiti game. You get a boring monolog from a developer and a cutscene. No gameplay. How very AAA of them. Lol
Ravenwatch looks good because its a Diablo clone where characters acfually have to dodge. Not just kill things fast.
Oh hey just recently I discovered that game (death must die) and gave it a try. There's a lot of room for improvement and some of them will be implemented next update but the general feel for the game is pretty good
Why was risk of rain 2 there? Its not indie anymore, its owned and made by gearbox isnt it?
Most the indie games are starting to look the same, I find it hard to distinguish one from the other.

I hate flash animation and anime looking things. I'd probably get into darkest dungeon if it didn't look so terrible. Most of these games look copycat and cheap.
Survivor like game? Asmon, that genre is called Bullet Heaven. The genre is the opposite of Bullet Hell games like Touhou. I really hope survivor like will not stick like souls like did, since Bullet Heaven is an already well established genre since ages.

Flintlock 100% is a Sweet baby game. They actually chnaged the character to a woman of color midway through development, to score some of thay sweet DEI money
Any game that presents a "strong", black, female protagonist is just a turn off, because I just know that there's a whole agenda behind it. Kind of disgusts me actually.

You forgot Flintlock looked good at the end, but the sweet baby vibes and using the composer is suspect.

Most games from this list is just fun, because that's what games are supposed to be. Sure the graphics were not superbly 2024, but it doesn't have to be. Triple A games development have dropped the fun element in their games, and all they have are storefronts with awesome graphics and politically correct agendas. We need indie games to create more games, to raise competition amongst them, and give gamers more options so that everyone can be happy playing the games that makes us happy.

Not gonna lie some of the games featured will probably be great, but its laughable how ridiculously bad some of the trailers are which might make them real unpopular as a result. Marketing can be real real bad on some of these titles. Hopefully they get the attention their gameplay deserves.
