What are your thoughts? Could the second tower in Florida be planned for SLC-37 or LC-39A?
1
Could we possibly use all the space in the tanks as livable area once they land on mars?
Tbh there was not much in the way of technical details in this presentation from musk. We saw differences briefly on the slides but there was little to no explanation for the major visible changes such as new hot staging ring.
Could they use the orbiting fuel tanks to allow ships to refuel before re-entry, thus allowing them to slow down more, which reduces the need for thermal protection?
Wait the ship that is going ti fly is Ship 29 Booster 11? huh
I understand the business aspect of having a YouTube channel and that bills need to be paid. But please don't be a shill for sleazy law firms exploiting people. Nobody wants to see that.
Hallo Felix,
ich mΓΆchte dich etwas fragen.
Whatever happened to the floating launch towersπ
yes yes yes
Itβs looking more and more like KSPπ
Come on, didnβt join what about it to talk about insurance. Give him something meaningful to do.
Felix Schlang, the unofficial official spokesperson for SpaceX and space
Hold on… why not catch a Falcon 9 ??? or build 2 towers with high tensile nets ?? isn't it the same ?? I have my own rocket in mind, nvm π
20:21 . . . Not So Fast Felix ! . . . SpaceX, Tesla, & Boring are indeed working on infrastructure capabilities :
(1) Solar Panels + Power Walls & Large Packs of Batteries for small cities or factories
(2) Electric vehicles that could work on any planet with reasonable surface environment
(3) Propellant Farms in space & on ground
(4) StarLink SatComs w/ Lasers !
(5) Electric Tunnel Boring machines that are proven to work
(6) . . . etc.
I wonder if they need to use the water deluge system when catching the booster?
@Whataboutit Wouldn't it be cool if there was a camera platform stationed near the planned "Virtual Tower" landing of Super Heavy for IFT4? To capture footage of a successful "landing" from a terrestrial observers viewpoint would be stunning!!
So how does Starship land on mars without a landing pad, is it going to land in the hole it digs while landing on soil.
Musk needs to bring his Boring Tool to Mars and go underground.
2:10 ππ Looks like a smiley face on the heat shield tiles.
morgan and morgan are …… AMBULANCE CHASERS KKKKKKKK
Everyone keeps talking about taller rockets. But if you're going to launch them and catch him you're going to need taller towers. So even if they bust up the tower it starbase. They're probably going to have to rebuild it anyway. They probably didn't even put foundations in solid enough to make a bigger tower?. So there's not a big rush to start building a tower in Florida until you know how exactly how big it needs to be.
The biggest challenge and decision to make on the Marsh landing. Is… New York or Chicago style pizza?
My guess is that Teslabots will be on Mars long before the squishy humans set foot for the first time.
I think they're having a hard time on the booster. Maybe because of the propellant not injecting properly. Unlike Falcon 9 using RP1
Why does this guy look 16 and 75 at the same time?
Injured in an accident? dang dude mega lame!!!!!!!!!!!
One thing in SpaceX renders of v2 and v3 Boosters that jumped out at me, and yet for some reason wasn't covered here, is those seem to have two separate BQD interfaces on each Booster!
Is this some kind of a redundancy play, or is OLM 2.0 literally going to have 2 BQDs, side by side, for double the fun? π€
Every time after blew up they announce "massive changes" or "groundbreaking update" lol
The second tower should be a catch-only tower; no OLM or tank farm, just tower with chopsticks. That will simplify construction and reduce rectification costs and time from a failed catch. I know rapid reuseability requires catch and reflight quickly, but weβre still in development phase currently. One step at a time.
Iβve never understood why the QD arm is at a fixed height. It should be on a system that allows some height adjustment for different height vehicles. Not just V1, V2 etc, but all the different types of starship might have different heights; lunar, Martian, fuel tank etc.

Tammy AI: Get video info faster & better
So, turned that Falcon Heavy is more efficient than current version of Starship? What was all the fuss about?
I mean once you can get 100s of tonnes of cargo to Mars, the habitat design problem becomes relatively far more trivial.
Engine heat shield may have been one of the mistakes of IFT-3. Due to heat of as many engines in one place and during vertical descent. While open construction lets the heat pass through. Just a guess.
Another thing once you have as many engine bells (large surfaces) they should kind of work like a steering device too during descent? Even when not firing?
