I don't think those are the best weapons, I had a 2h sword and sorc staff that were far better than the dragon crystal weapons. They were all available in my ng+ game at the vendors.
Within one week I went from struggling against goblins to hunting dragons for fun. This game is just too good
I remembered how i fought my 1st dragon at level 24 as a warrior and end up soloing he’s last 2 bars of hp without my pawns

What about destroying the bodies? Does that speed it up at all? Hit a dead body wnought and it becomes a pile of organs, bones, and slime
sadly the dragons don't respawn by just resting, they kinda feel like they random, like one i killed just teleported in one sec its not there the next its there, after i killed it went to rest, then headed bk to check to see if i missed in any drops, its body was gone, so I'm guessing its a bug, i even went to see if the wondering dragon had respawned, know at least 3 in game months had past, but still no show, same for the one at the battlegrounds, at least in Skyrim the dragons were always on time XD, hopefully capcom gonna hotfix
If you are in late game or ng+, I recommend the magic archer maister skill. It’s op and takes all the guess work out of it. One shot and done.
Apparently you can farm the final dragon if you kill it instead of going to the unmoored world

Im a fighter vocation decked out in full black plate armour with the dragons faith shield. Got that drake slaying drip on lock.
Yes thief with plunder works wonder i got 2 to 3 extra when i the dragon is stun/down.
Actually a super informative video. Haven't seen a video yet with all the drake spawn locations in the normal world yet. Most have a good few of these missing.
Also for the unmoored world you don't have a time limit so long as you prioritize the beacons. Once you clear them you can stay as long as you want. Although after day 12 you can't rest anymore but you can stay as long as you want besides that.
Also there are new spawns for lesser dragons in the unmoored world. Lesser dragons being the ones with cysts on them like the one you first see in melve. That one being the only one before post game. Those same lesser dragons drop rare items too along with their normal wyvern crystal drops.
Archer with poison arrows is amazing for Drakes. If they start flying poison arrow makes them fall out of the sky. If they are casting a spell poison arrow staggers them and cancels the spell. Then just use Spiral Arrow on their heart and they die pretty quick.
It might not be as efficient but I hit up the 3 around Harve and just Martyrs Bolt them. There are Camps close by so I can reset my health after each kill. I've been getting 30-45 a run.
The Dragon you encounter in Melve is part of a quest. He will fly off after a receive a certain amount of damage. But you can find him in the Dragonsbreath Tower for the second part of the vocation quest.
I am on true ending but the dragon forge don't have the option for vocation improve buffs etc. Just the weapons and armors. Any tip?

Do I have to sleep 14 times on the bench at the inn necessarily? And then I see that you also sleep while paying at the innkeeper's or is it just my impression why then you skip the video? In any case, I see that you doze on the bench 14 times in a row but every time I stand up with the character, while yours remains standing. Is it just me or do I have a bug? My dragons don't respawn. Thank you!

Tried several drakes at level 30 now. No chance, after 8 minutes absolute survivalistic wndboss fight they heal themselves up completely with one little healing spell these fookas. Well at least I've survived my escape everytime. Probably gonna try a drake at around level ~150 or higher
If you are a PC user using save manager mod, save first prior to fighting the drake. You can save scum until you get the desired drops. Apparently the drops get determine after the drake dies.
The drake in Harve keeps flying away from me when I'm kicking its ass..can anyone explain why? Same with the dragon near the Nameless Village…
Hoggly suggest using a thief with plunder. You get loads of extra crystals
I’ve been looking for where/how to farm drakes myself in game with little consistency for like the last 5 days, thank you so much!!! I’m waiting until I have a lot of allheals, ferrystones, crystals, and money before I start the unmoored world, about 100 hours in and still haven’t finished the story 😂 thank you!!!
