Tencent? More like This can't be played without Micropayment.
tencent is just trying to cash in on everything because the chinese government wants to control the world, which has already been proven by how tencent tried to buy a few japanese anime studios, well buy shares enough to where they have actual influence and the japanese were basically saying no way we will not sell we will never sell shares to you guys, they also have shares in about 20 different western game companies I believe or more and all so, they have no say about making stuff or owning stuff in china because they are owned by the chinese government who are trying to legit buy out every western industry so they can just enforce their laws and ruin everything, and yeah their microtransactions are bad in warframe the platinum (premium currency) was DE's idea and is reasonable, but now since tencent own 98% of DE they introduced a cash grab for stronger versions of the frames which used to be small money to buy them but now its buy this new premium currency to buy them and its way over priced like for me to buy 15 which is not a lot but at the same time over enough for the most part, its a collection of 1200 plat and 15 regal aya for $89 AUD but before it was just the aya so $89 for something that could just be farmed in game so a total cash grab, but then DE or whats left of DE added plat which made it a little more fair because 1000 plat a little less than is in this bundle is worth $56 AUD but it also gives mods where this Aya bundle doesnt but its a little more plat and more premium currency so tencent are just bad and want to basically control everything.
I doubt Tencent can spark the same kind of wildfire that is Palworld.
Their passion is for money, not to make great games unlike Pocket Pair.
In fact, it's quite the miracle that Palworld turned out to be a huge success.
A group of people who have passion but not many skills managed to learn on the spot and overcame many hurdles.
But the skillful people that Pocket Pair did have, they took their advice to heart like the dev that convinced the studio to move from Unity to Unreal Engine.
I don't know if they had a good marketing person in there but their marketing was quite successful and kept us looking forward for the game.
Still it's quite the amazing story to hear that Pocket Pair did not have proper version control in place, instead having a bucket of USB drives and merging all the work together.
Or that the head of Pocket Pair was borrowing money to develop the game.
Reminds me of another indie dev who made the sacrifice and made a successful game at the end of it, the indie dev that made Kenshi.
I still understand that Handy gaming is not that good, but every release there sounds like the next big thing which has me confused.
Dokev should be better than palworld if they want to succeed

Tencent and passion for game development? Forget it. They love doing cheap kock-offs with cash grab traps because they know that enough people will fall for it.

Tencent's will either make Palworld 76 or Palworld Immortal. Or the worst of both worlds.
the big issue i have with it being tencent is that it’s allegedly from two of their their mobile games studios… which means it’s NOT to make a good and enjoyable game. it’s to bleed as much money as possible out of people with micro transactions before completely abandoning the game (like they are doing with several of their games right now)
If it is developed by TenCent, it is best to ignore them. Their monetization is astronomically high, and they are typically soulless cash grabs.
Tencent is pretty evil when It comes to micro transactions! Please for the love of god almighty don’t support them. Only game I ever played was league of legends but even back then their micro transactions were pretty bad. They tend to ruin everything they touch.
in a gist, Tencent sole focus is to make a lot of money. Their games are always in the line of free to play with heavy emphasis in ingame transactions. example of what they do is that Theyre gonna take some popular Ip and make a lootbox mobile game from that

The thing about this is that all the hype for a "mature" Pokemon-like game has gone to Palworld, so anything that comes out later will basically be "oh, cool. Anyways…"
