My wife and I recently completed a stay at #Cosmopolitan of Las #Vegas to see if the hotel holds up after being sold to MGM Resorts. We’ll talk why Cosmo has the best rooms in Vegas, some of the unique aspects of staying there and whether or not anything has changed under the new ownership. Is Cosmo still Cosmo?
In other #news we learned that Vegas casinos have reported record earnings for the 2nd quarter. MGM, Caesars and Wynn all reported very strong earnings with MGM setting record numbers. A long time Vegas goer, went in May and it was the worst trip ever. Service is garbage and the prices for everything are out of touch with reality. Can’t see myself going back any time soon. Was so excited after a few years of not travelling but it was terrible.
I learned some good things about Vegas and enjoyed this video.
Shoot, many (20+) years ago I made money off a group of buddies who did not think I could eat the 40 strips of bacon I had from a breakfast buffet. Damned easy money.
The current Bellagio conservatory display is really different, and really excellent.

In reference to connecting cosmo – they could connect it via the same walkway that Vdara and Bellagio share-knock a hole in the wall and build a walk way.
It's admirable the way that you are so well aware of what's going on at the Strip and beyond. By any chance, do you have an informant who lets you know in California what's going on in Vegas in any given moment? (Just kidding).

MGM has been trying to.buy Cosmo since it was under construction. City Center / Aria was under construction at same time…MGM originally wanted that whole block of land so they could control the south side of the strip

Yes, yes, yes, the cosmo rooms are by far the best in Vegas. I hope MGM does not cheapen it or make it different like Marriot hotels does then they take over a property.
Yes, normally I wouldn't call $35 for all-you-can-eat K BBQ a "deal"…..
However, considering what food court at the Resort World are charging, $50 should be still considered as "steal"…..
To provide some perspective (not to boast honestly…) on a couple of lowerish rollers like us who come to LV 10-12 times a year and stay, eat almost exclusively at MGM props. Platinum status. Poker, slots, craps and ultimate Texas hold em players. We are comped almost every single night (always on long weekends) we stay and are given $100 in FP and $100 food and bevy credit. Bottom line for us is MGM's program is way more lucrative for us in 21/22 and they've made it easier for us to come down almost monthly. Now, get your sheet together MGM and roll Cosmo into your card/comps. program already. It's time.

Yes IMO best standard room in Vegas is Cosmo with balcony and hottub in bathroom. Not the one with tub near window though. I felt latter was not nearly as nice.

I really enjoy gambling. My wife and I first went to Las Vegas in 1969. Eventually I went so much I went on gambling junkets (invited trips paid by the casino based on amount of game play), then we bought a condo, left a car there, and owned it for four years. We sold the condo in 1995 due to increased gang activity, casino gambling in other states, and the declining quality of casino attractions, services and the increase in prices. Those earning reports by the casinos are essentially them saying, “Well, paid parking, jacked-up room rates, the great amenities we provide through resort fees and our fewer/smaller gambling payouts are making us even richer.” (The fancy-suit-wearing executives pause for high-fives, excessive laughter and lighting up their cigars … then they continue. “Let’s keep screwing people because they keep coming back.”

The Cosmo pool is awesome ! It overlooks the strip. We found a great spot with Shae from one of the plants so we were good.
These hotels are so cheap they can't put more trees around the pools for shade. Real or fake, like you said, just add something!

I agree with Mark! Why would I pay more at a restaurant to cook my own food? Usually restaurants pay people to cook. They call those people Line Cooks.
You're not paying them to cook it yourself, you're paying them to wash the dishes.
