Become my Soul Reaver, my Angel of Death. It’s time to return to Nosgoth and help Raziel seek revenge on the immortal vampiric lord Kain. I’ll be replaying the full game on playstation 1, critiquing the mechanics and bosses, finding the hidden optional areas and casting all the spells as we ask, Soul Reaver, was it any good?
As usual a big thank you to the supporters on Patreon and Twitch who keep the channel alive.

am i missing something or is this a reupload, i think i saw this video already a while ago
yes
Did you know you could talk to Dumah in the spectral realm before removing the spears from his body ? His soul is right there in the room.
Also, another mechanic that you didn't mention is how the souls behave in the physical realm. They hang out for some time so you can feed, but eventually pass on and go to the spectral realm. If you immediately go into the spectral realm, they will be present for you to feed in addition of any other soul or enemy roaming around.
However, if you went away and continued your adventure, the leftover vampire souls would eventually turn into a wraith, making the area more difficult if you ever went back. And if the body of a vampire you killed was not destroyed, its soul turned into a wraith, and you removed the spike they were emplaed with, not only they would come back but they would become a soul eater too.
Haha, he said Butt ress
The complexity and style of vocabulary used for the dialogue is so engaging and well implemented. The writing and delivery elevate the cut-scenes far beyond a typical vehicle to spoon feed objectives and plot points. For me the dialoge is key to the world's very unique atmosphere. Ahead of its time then, and still holds up today. Like you say its unskippable.
thank you for your video. it was super fun to watch, all the memories, all the surprises, and passajes waiting to be discovered, impresive, like a coin landing on its edge . I hope you can do a review for each other game.
Tony Jay did a ton of voices in Kings Quest 6 as well
Yup one of the best gaming franchises ever made Nozgoth has so much lore to explore
yo this shit could be a movie.
Speaking of Vampires, ever thought to review Vampire the Masquerade Blood Lines?
Best story ever written for video games. Best acting. Hands Down
34:07 "Okay, just to be clear, I fully understand the stress that comes from being in a position of power, and the agonizing indecision caused by knowing that your actions decide the fate of the world.
I'm just sayin' that, when your actions involve the words 'eternal torture' and 'genocide', and are motivated purely by personal jealousy and spite, then maybe what you really need is a little bit MORE indecision. "
The answer was yes.
Yes it was.
This is one of my favorite games of all time.
That narrator voice! He was Kreselack in Icewind Dale!!!
I only finished the game once, in 2011 I think, on ps1. So the disc had scratches and the dialogue had bugs and cuts. I am from Brazil and being 15 years old at that time I had just minor English knowledge, insufficient to understand what I had to do, due to the sound bugs. The only way I found was a very old forum with all the dialogues transcripted. And I yet had to discover where each dialogue was from. What a journey! This game has a special place in my heart ❤
Just to let you know, due to watching this video (on the original channel) a few weeks ago I decided to retry this game again after trying it out a couple of years ago and dropping it. I just beat it, and while it has some rough edges it was good experience. What's shocking is that the stuff you expect to age poorly for a 90's game actually aged really good (graphics, voice acting, platforming).
Incredible video. Love this series. Soul Reaver 2 next please!
voice acting some of the best? I really disagree.
Sometimes i wish Tony Jay was still alive, he had such an awesome voice.
I hope you review the sequels.
V true about the map. I remember I played this when I was like 8 or something and got to a point where i couldn't figure out what to do. Then whenever I tried playing it again, I had forgotten what I had previously done, had no idea what I was supposed to do or where to go and just wandered back and forth between areas for hours 😂 never finished it
