Been playing mmo’s since I was 7 and am now 32 and the most striking thing I’ve observed over those years imo is how most mmo’s don’t seem to take most of the hard earned lessons away from the mmo’s that come before them. Almost like the teams hardly played mmo’s before coming together to make one lol. 🤷🏼♂️ What other market niche can see millions and millions spent on product development with so seemingly little foresight and research? 😂

So weird. I knew this game was going to be bad. I waited and waited almost considered it a few times. Hell nah
this is why amazon pushed back the release date for lost ark. they new it was an actual good game and would crush NW.
I thought New World would be something I could play until Ashes of Creation (after quitting WoW last month) but I guess I was wrong.
Idk about you guys but I remember the glorious journey to get my Quel'Serar in WoW.
For your sake, I hope Ashes of Creation will be an absolutely perfect game. There is a danger of overhyping it at this stage. It might not live up to all this hype.
Have you thought about covering Pantheon? Another upcoming mmo? Just an idea for other mmo coverage for content
i also think materials are way too easily obtained, legendary items shouldnt be this easily obtained, in bdo for example, a good weapon is the "V" enhancement, which roughly took me a year to get and its still not the best, if i sold everything i have gained over the past 4 years in bdo i could get 1 "legendary" armor piece, people had legendaries the second week in new world, pretty sad tbh.
ps; Although i really enjoy the game, 1 week in im lvl 26, i dont use the trading place as much as i prefer to gather my own materials, the questing is actually pretty ok, how i spent 15 minutes trying to find a bear, realizing they put the damn bear in a cave which was pretty clever, and how mobs are scarce and you cant just go to a place, kill 5 crocodiles in 20 seconds and move on, you have to dodge, block, attack, and use mechanics, i love that part of the game. its still a newly released game and they will surely get it to a good "bug" free state eventually.

Lost Ark is pretty dope. Storyline is alright, though I can't imagine doing it more than once. End game is… a bit soulless? Not very immersive? But the gameplay rocks

I played it in beta and made the decision not to play at launch. It has masses of potential to grow though and because its buy to play those players who bought it can drop back in when content is added.
Once they add in more weapons (daggers, greatsword and void gauntlet on the way) and the swimming mechanic i may well jump into it again myself.
I have a feeling you might be heading for a rather large fall, ashes of creation hasnt proved anything yet but you are being a bit too smug and taking pot shots at a released game. Is it perfect? Far from it but then it has time and money to improve. Ashes doesnt have the current iteration of new world to compete with it will have to compete with an mmo that has been released and actively developed for likely 2 years or so before ashes even look to release.
