Prime Minister spruiks delivery of expensive electric truck fleet

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has spruiked the delivery of a fleet of electric trucks, according to Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

Mr Bolt said most of them are Volvo FL trucks at Team Global Express.

“The Prime Minister was saying these electric trucks were a game changer,” he said.

“These trucks in Britain actually cost twice as much as the comparable diesel one.

“The ones the Prime Minister was promoting today were only bought with the help of a $20 million assistance from the Australian Renewable Energy Agencies.”

  1. You can't let Labor or the Greens get into power. Not Local, State or Federal.
They don't make massive mistakes, they corrupt from the inside with their sick ideology.

Let’s hope these idiots are out of power before the damage is permanent. Think it’s time we knew who owns our politicians especially the likes of these 2 muppets.

  4. We all know that we can not continue burning fossil fuels in vehicles, simply for health and pollution reasons. However does Labor actually know what they are doing. If they did why is there not a comprehensive documented plan for a transition that every body can understand and that is backed up with proper data and that will be long lasting, not just the term of Labor in other words a nation building plan . And why, crikey can we not build these vehicles here in Australia. Why is it that politicians always need to look elsewhere for some new innovation. I am all for the change as it will be good for ererybody, but what is it with the factination of Not Made in Australia. I think if Labor wants to move the thinking and critical citizen they need to get there but of the toilet seat.

  6. 60 trucks, to charge them say 40 to 50 Mega Watt hours!!!!. And they will likely need to charge twice per day. The average house uses about 15 to 20 Kilowatt hours over a day. To charge that truck fleet in 1 hour requires over 2000 houses worth of power for a day, or 48000 houses for 1 hour of fast charging. Just this 1 showcase truck fleet will need incoming copper cable sizing you find on main distribution lines at power stations to handle the huge current. What happens when 500 other trucks in that suburb also need to charge overnight? Where is the millions for infrastructure coming from?. Where is the cheap electricity coming from?. Parliament is full of lawyers, how about electing some people with basic maths skills.
