What do dinosaurs taste like ? Chicken, of course!
At least, the dinosaurs we raise for eggs and meat taste like chicken,
Psilocybin containing mushroom last 6-8 hours. Seeing βGodβ by taking mushrooms is extremely rare. Youβll need to take a βheroicβ dose (a dose way bigger dose than is common).
There are some βafter effectsβ that last 4-12 hours, but they are very mild and you wonβt be hallucinating during this period.
Many drugs that have a biological origin could be dangerous. Heroin, cocaine, cannabis, psychedelic mushrooms, tobacco, salvia, kana, and a bunch of other substances are made from plant material. All these psychoactive substances can be synthesized in a lab and would be free of any life forms.
Ps: vodka can be made without any living compounds. Vodka for example can be pure alcohol mixed with water. No living organisms needed. Beer, whisky, etc do taste better and canβt be synthesized and sterilized.
How fun would it be to be an emergency medicine doc in a hospital near to an alien tourism spot… Oh, I'm sure those would be some stories for the history books.
(In fact, I really like the idea of that as a television series)
5:30 Awww, he's so cute, can we keep him? Please!!
I have to say it. Alien biology might not be that different from our own. – details covers multiple topics, but just a quick blurb on it –
There are 2 elements that have no known substitutes for what they do. phosphorus and Nitrogen, meaning life combinations are limited to those 2 elements, and could be the only reason why Aliens would come to Earth, because of the rich Nitrogen Atmosphere and Phosphorus content, being that Phosphorus is actually rare in the universe, it would make for the most logical target for any species to acquire. Silicone doesn't play nicely Phosphorus, even tho it can replace carbon in some forms, as well as Ammonia instead of water, both of these don't really work for stable bonds to make Amino Acids, RNA and DNA, it has to work for all 3 or it's a bust for life forms as a whole.
Tell your son that I have had alligator and rattlesnake and both tasted much like chicken. Therefore dinosaurs tasted like KFC.
Liara's parent (not voiced by Mirina Sirtis): "Don't try to be tough, it'll tear your insides apart."
Steve Blum: "She's not kidding, Ryncol hits aliens like ground glass."
I prefer the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster
Love the AI-generated stock pictures.
Hopefully we can get reference to the Red Dwarf episode Justice for the automated justice episode.
Any amount of alcohol is bad for you on the cellular level, especially in the brain.
Yes!
Upcoming topics are super cool!
Star Trek Season 6 Episode 20 had Humans, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians all being made by the same ancient aliens.
They could simply have them engineered to be compatible.
Have any of you hoopy foods had a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster yet?
Tell me about it. I drink it everyday. And im dying for it
Human: Ugh, your food tastes like cardboard.
Grey: What is this cardboard you speak of?
Human: We use it to contain things. Here's a box made of it.
Grey starts eating the box.
Grey: Nectar of the gods!
To answer Geo's question, dinosaurs taste like chicken, at least according to the Animorphs dinosaur time travel novel π
may i offer you a glass of sake -destilled on mars
When I think of all the SciFi I have read, I don't remember much about "Sex and Drugs and Rock n Roll". These cultural things from hallucinogenic mushroom from 5,000 year old tribal rites, and Indian Temples of Sex instruction, and the first instrument being a drum. All hold a story of their own. Beer was proffered to save you from getting Typhoid, Amoebic Dysentery and Cholera, some 10,000 years ago.
Would you trust a bottle of alien water?
"Alien beer", also known as "Slurm"!
The βwhat do dinosaurs taste likeβ question reminds of a conversation I had. Someone commented that since birds evolved from dinosaurs then T Rex tasted like chicken. I pointed out that he had that backwards, chicken tastes like T Rex. π
Whenever I hear about alien diseases not being able to infect Earth life, I like to remind folk that just because something can't affect us in an identical manner, doesn't stop it from potentially colonising parts of our bodies and interfering with how they function.
you shouldn't cook with alcohol while also drinking it?
I've done everything wrong my whole life.
2 fingers of whiskey for me, 1 for the steak.
love the new short format π would love to see more of these
Poles would find a way to drink it anyway π
Fermi paradox solution… the prometheus solution. Posits:
1. Earth atmospheric pressure is non condusive to alien life forms of a common variety.
2. Most life forms develop within very thick atmospheric conditions. (Like the Volus from ME series)
3. They(aliens) die from Oppenheimer's terrible possibility.
The nuclear age had a unknown outcome of possible atmospheric ignition, on a world with different conditions for life there is the possibility that those conditions allow for atmospheric ignition upon the entry to the atomic age and therefore leads to accidental or purposeful extinction of all alien life.
There is always the possibility that standard intelligent lifeforms will be autotrophs. Who consider any specie that has to kill in order to stay alive Ethically unacceptable and either isolate or exterminate them on moral grounds. "Then" in that instance being us, by the way. Or they could be strict carnivores who have incorporated the cannibalism in their moral system, and consider any civilization that refuses to count itself as possible food as snobs and possibly unacceptably racists. Again, that makes us candidates to contention or extermination.
In the end of day, there are some connections between morality and menu that are certainly not stablished by logical necessity, but would be likely. Depending on who is the "ground line". The carnivores are perhaps less likely, but I really believe a advanced society of autotrophs would be more likely to consider non-autotrophs as morally aborrent than to not consider them (us) in that light.
They would have to be way MORE (trully) Ethical than we are to not feel that way about things that consume other living things to survive. As far as I can see.
My pet mice can catch upper respiratory infections from my colds. They have died from them.
The subtle brass music caught me off guard.
The subtle brass music caught me off guard.
Nightmare dink an flyinππππ
God finally, I've been waiting for an anwser to this question for years!
You can get alligator meat if you want.
I do not like shorts. I do not watch them.
The real question is do aliens even drink beer they mighty consume acids as a form of a relaxing mind altering liquid also it may not even be liquid
One pan-galactic-gargle-blaster please.
Was it that simple? Just give the xenomorph a cheeseburger; medium rare, gooey cheese, melty bacon, they'd never settle for raw manflesh again.
I want someone to write a Book in which the Story is told through Restaurant Reviews by someone who is searching for the best Alien Beerπ
Now I fancy a Pangalactic Gargleblaster
Pangalactic gargleblasters all around!
This has me thinking of the game Godlike Burger. You run a burger restaurant in space. Customers have four preferences for what kind of burger patties they like, and anything else is considered disgusting. Nothing fatal unless you put poison in for the sauce, with the exception of one type that explodes if it gets too annoyed or suspicious. What's to be suspicious about? Well, as the game's trailer says: the secret ingredient is the customers themselves.
ABV is alcohol by volume, not value.
Does this mean that travel between worlds is also banned? Sure beer has microorganisms but so do people's bodies.
I wouldn't fee too confident about not catching viruses from other species. You might not catch thr flu from a cat, but you can certainly catch it from a bird . And you can catch the rabies virus from a cat with no problem at all. Don't know about aliens.
But Star Trek/Banksβ Culture might be the future! Alien beer, interbreeding, and STDs galore!
"Oh no, we've been shipwrecked and the Lizard-Lions are going to eat us!" "Wait, we're from another planet. Are humans even edible for them?" "No, we're terribly poisonous to them. But they don't know that, and apparently we smell delicious." "Oh."
There is also the possibility of poisonous alien foods actually being useful or even healthy to humans, or vice versa.
In the Prince Roger series, where the main characters are given a "poisoned" meal, which just happens to have the amino acids in it that they had been lacking for most of the book.
David Weber had another example in the Dehak series, where the one of the alien characters basically kept a salt shaker of arsenic, because that was a needed mineral in his diet.
