Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

  1. The part where Galadriel throws an entire bag of rings into Mt. Doom and then walks off winking at the camera before doing a backflip onto a skateboard and then jumping onto Sauron's head shouting "Swing batta batta". Literally chilling my spine.

  2. This is cultural appropriation of English, Nordic, Celtic, and Finnish culture of which the Lord of the Rings was based and represented. They may as well put on Lakota headdresses and dance a pow wow. Because this is culture and mythos of a European people, it does not make it excusable.

  3. The scene where Turin Turambar gifted his dragon glass light saber to George Washington in order to defeat Mola Ram and save Dr. Jones hanging from the bridge, about to be devoured by Ancalagon, it was an emotional roller coaster. Truly a cinematic master piece worthy of an AVN Award!

  5. It was truly terrifying when Jessie Gender said "I don't care about equality or honesty! I just want special privileges and will continue to gaslight others and emotionally manipulate my audience by victimizing myself and others and warp the truth in order to gain sympathy if that is what it will take to get it!". This show truly knows how to write a terrifying manipulative villain. Can't wait to see the heroic knight Matt Walsh of Republicanvale destroy Jessie and the transitional army by asking them "What is a woman?"

  6. Wow they are fixing Tolkien's clearly despised and dated work and making it so so applicable modern politics and current events. I'm so glad that they are telling me how I should think and injecting their own. . . Everything into Tolkien's work that is clearly in need of massive changes in order to be relatable to anyone but Tolkien himself. Tolkien clearly didn't know what he was doing when it came to writing. It's a good thing they picked an era they had none of the rights to, because of this they only have to ignore and change the few things that he actually wrote and they can make up the rest for themselves and tell us "Tolkien never said this didn't happen."

  8. The part where Sam and Frodo stumbled out of the phonebooth with Billy the Kid and Socrates as Frodo asks "Dude, where are we?" got me so excited! But when Sam answered "I don't know, but they play good music."… Chills. I trust the showrunners, and am confident the show is in good hands!
