I’m an Anglican Priest in the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and I get to serve in the Parish of St Margaret of Scotland, in the beautiful city of Halifax, NS, that sits on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
My pronouns are he/him/his. My theology is primarily Christo-centric – Jesus is at the centre and it is against Him that all values are bounced off. I believe all people are created in the image of God and are children of God and are heirs to the throne of God – no conditions – therefore every single person we meet deserves our love, and respect.

Yes. And Sinclair Lewis said when fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross. They use religion as a tool of manipulation.
Have you ever hear any Christian who supports trump reference or talk about The Fruits of the Spirit? I am reasonably sure l never have.

I am not a Christian, but you could not convince many Christians who know me of that. Your Jesus, like the Buddha and Mohammad were prophets who taught a specific way that winds its way through all religions. That’s why a Christian thinks I am Christian. That’s why a Muslim thinks I am Muslim. That’s why a Buddhist thinks I am Buddhist. That righteous path crosses through all religions and has very little doctrine of its own.
Your deeds, not your words, get you into Heaven. Your salvation is in your own hands. It is in what you do, not what you say.
Idolatry is normalized in many American churches. Trump walked into a well groomed base.

So, so glad you are here doing what you do. Trying to be succinct: The "whys" of the Orange Menace, I believe… that is, in my view, my life experience… is that he has learned to be a gang leader. Within a gang, nothing else matters except that you are "loyal" to the gang. They don't care what else you have done so long as you all hang together in whatever the gang does. Right and wrong don't exist. It's Us against Them, and the "us" does what the gang does. And the gang does what the leader says. Without question. Blindly. Gang loyalty is the universal justification. What thinking there is, that goes on, is all self-aggrandizement. …Think: "Cancer cells."
Is the worship of wealth how manipulative rich people get put on a pedestal? Would anyone be following Trump if he wasn’t a billionaire?
Same idea with those multimillionaire preachers, people seem to flock to them in admiration of their mansions and private jets while ignoring that they are not living like Jesus told us to!

Manipulating faith = Christianity
If you have to tell others you are a Christian, you aren't. Just like politician, businesses who display their faith in their advertising typically take advantage of their customers in terms of quality, price, etc.
My sister said she refuses to do business with people who have a fish on their business card. Sadly, she has learned that it usually costs twice as much for substandard work. She lives in the Bible Belt.
So basically, show don’t tell. Basic rule of storytelling 😉
Rev, a lot of them think Trump is the second coming of Jesus. He isn't just using religion to lead, he's using it to control and brainwash his followers. MAGA fits every definition of a cult, and we all know how cults end. All you have to do is look at Jim Jones, David Koresh, and the guy from Heaven's Gate.(can't remember his name) That's what scares me about my family being in that cult…what if they end up like the people in Jonestown?
Moving to a new home in a dark red state I searched for a home church. Numerous attempts left me feeling oppressed by the hard heartedness and undertow of political aggression. So this is why I am here with all of you and Rev. Ed. Also, Grace for Purpose Prayer every morning. God be with you all and thank you Rev.
To compare the greatest man in Europe, with the loser in the Ultra Secure Asylum, is a total insult. Napoleon was elected as First Consul, and was then elected as Emperor. He never started a war, he was pushed in to them by the monarchies who wanted the Bourbons back on the throne, regardless of what the French people want. Most people fail to see just what Napoleon did. He reformed the laws, creating the Code Napoleon, a legal system that is still the backbone of over 100 countries around the world. He was the first leader in history to introduce pensions for the veterans, free education for everyone in France, up to the age of 11, the very first free hospitals for everyone. He modernised farming, increasing the supplies of year-round food. He worked to get the canals and rivers navigable for ships, allowing fresher food to be brought right in to the hearts of cities. He had built new water supplies to every commune across France. He modernised roads, planting trees to shelter the travellers using them. He introduced the semaphore, allowing messages to go from the Med, all the way to Le Manche, in 6 hours, instead of 2 weeks.
And Trump? Just cheats, steals, insults everyone who is not him. And his successes? NIL. Trump is a gnat compared to the HUMAN Napoleon.
Sorry for this. Years of teaching cannot be suppressed.

Perhaps an unkind thing to say about them, but Trump is not the cause of what he does, he is a symptom of it.
Trump’s values are the values of his voters.
When I was counseling, I would tell my clients they would never know or hear what religion I was. That if religion was important to them, they may place theirs upon me, but that is for them and not for me. I was always quietly amused when, occasionally before a group session, I would overhear a discussion of clients trying to guess or justify their opinion of what I might believe. ~ My opaqueness became a curiosity, BUT all clients came to understand the focus was on healing and there were services available for many differing faiths.
I have questioned myself for not announcing my relationship with God as an elected official. I sometimes feel like I'm betraying Him.
But you are so right, Rev Ed, because when people find out that I'm a Christian, they tell me that they have watched the way I live and have re-dedicated their life to Christ.

I wondered if Mitt Romney's LDS played a factor in his unsuccessful presidential bid. It was an outlier to what the rest of the nation (theoretically) believes. It would also make it very hard for an open atheist to attain that position. I suspect that's what Donnie boy is underneath, but obviously disguised.
Evangelicals are far more interested in power than they are in any moral quality of their replacement Jesus. The NEW Jesus, now without any woke!
The only politician anyone should always consider emulating is Jimmy Carter. I’m an Atheist. I Recognize a good person by thier actions. He was a Christian. He was a Humanist. Jimmy Carter was a Liberal. Possibly a Progressive using modern definitions. If the Politician who is the closest to living the Ideals of Jesus was a Liberal/Progressive, why do some Christians be conservative?
