Top 10 Strongest Prime Glyphs From WoWs History

For those of you unfamiliar with prime glyphs, they are a special type of glyph that greatly enhances a player’s abilities, usually even more so than major glyphs. Prime glyphs only lasted for 1 expansion, which was Cataclysm. In total, there were some 80 or so Prime Glyphs throughout Cata, so today we’re going to go over the best of these.

  1. I mean I know its not a dps heal or tank increase but my favorite glyph was Glyph of Misdirect. it made it so if you used misdirect on your pet, its cd would instintly reset. So basically if your using your hunter to solo stuff, it made it so all aggro was always on your pet. Pair it along with glyph of mend pet and your hunter had a strong tank that your hunter wouldnt have to worry about pulling aggro unless the mob had a aoe ability. I also used a spirit beast since in cata they also had a very strong hot

  2. For the Howling Blast one, theres a few more context things behind it that made it so good, tl;dr at end.
Frost Fever naturally was applied by Icy Touch, a 1 frost rune single target spell that did low damage, and was spread by Pestilence, a 1 unholy rune spell that would also spread your other plague, meaning it was 1 less rune for better damage, and an automatically spread plague.
Whats more was the talent Freezing Fog (currently renamed to Rime if i recall), giving a chance on Obliterate cast to make your next Howling Blast free, but also reset its cooldown, making it now a 2 rune positive on maintaining in AoE.
The big final thing was during Cata frost and unholy had talents that would cause additional debuffs to be applied to anything afflicted by the spec specific plagues, and Frost Fever included Brittle Bones, a pretty nasty physical vulnerability to set up for the 2h Obliterate and Frost Strike casts (on top of the strength boost from Fallen Crusader)

tl;dr – Frost Fever was an extremely desirable debuff to have up, this let them do it cheaper and faster.

  3. Can't believe you didn't mention Unleashed Lightning for the Shaman, simple but massive change, just allows Lightning Bolt to be cast while moving. An absolutely absurd glyph allowing Elemental Shamans to use their primary filler spell literally all the time.

  4. As much as I rip on Cata, DKs were filthy in Cata and MoP. I was soloing dungeons, albeit very slowly, during both xpacs. We had absolutely insane survivability as blood dks but dps was pretty lacking. I couldnt remember which glyphs were prime vs major so looked up a list, how did you not honorable mention Glyph of Death Strike? 2% increased damage per 5 runic power up to 40%? Death Strike was a major rotation ability since it gave us our blood shield, it already hit hard and the glyph just made it better. It was also one of I believe 2 or 3 abilities that were actually useful that used runic power so you were never shy on it and always had a good amount.

  5. Hey himura,
Usually a big fan – but I feel a huge drop in the quality of your content on this one.

Almost everything you said about Berserk was wrong – berserk has not been in the game since vanilla (@6:20). It was added in Cata.

Feral Druids also don't do their damage in "Quake short bursts". (@7:20)

Though your post production caught it: Blood DKs, not Blood Elves (@2:05).

I'm getting really serious vibes of "didn't even check the script for facts or typos before reading it" here…
