Just seen a very scary simulation about Earth and the next 15 years in regard to temperatures in a laboratory in Odense where I live (Denmark), itยดs based on exponential climate changes and Southern Europe can look forward to 50+ celsius temperatures in two years. Perhaps we should have figured out how to save our planet first and foremost, might be too late now. We might probably by now even know more about Mars than we know about our own oceans … but I am not intelligent … so I really donยดt understand where we went wrong with our priorities. Wrong forum perhaps, had to vent ….

Future settlers may have to deal with cosmic rays causing the odd flash in their eyes? Those same cosmic rays make the surface of the planet lethal to life! Completely irradiated, no life can settle on the planet as it is, and humans would not be able to live safely there as it is now. How can you have missed this? It was discovered nearly 20 years ago with the rovers that landed back then.
