i think it eve was an ex-Blizzard dev that said something like: when games are super successful, it's not the devs that get the promotions, it's the finance and marketing people. so over the years, in every "beloved" studio/publisher, finance and marketing people took over more and more, passion go lost and the green god took its toll.
the Blizzard of once is dead and has lost all its actual talent. Blizzard now, is just a rotting husk and their recent "products" are proof of that.
and it's not just Blizzard, EA is a much better example of that. Ubisoft, Bethesda, Gearbox, Take2, WB Games, Valve all of these big gaming corporations just lost their passion while becoming more and more profitable. even companies like CDPR, Sony, XBox show early warning signs of this degeneration…

World of Warcraft was mindblowing, I played US closed beta, EU closed beta, EU open beta and then the actual game until WOTLK.

As one of the few who played both diablo immortals alphas and the beta I can tell you that the game was actually good during those stages. All us people who gave massive amounts of feedback throughout them were all duped into thinking we were making it better. They took all our feedback and absolutely used it to their advantage.

It's funny hearing Asmon say that WoW having groundbreaking graphics at the time of release. I distinctly remember thinking the game looks ugly as all hell, back in 04 and trashing it for it. 😂

still playing d2r. i've played d3 as well, the expac. i think i've got to like nightmare 14 or whatever is the scalable difficulty and rift 50ish. but then i got back at playing d2r. didn't bother with d4.
D3 RM auction house was connected to the in-game loot table which means all the good loot was up for cash.
Yeah i havent touched a blizzard game for a while now. Dont see myself playing any of their games in future, i doubt they'll make anything good anymore.
I hated WoW (still do) for the reason that Starcraft 2 was SO DELAYED for so many years……
I actually missed the auction house form D3…..IRL money or not, I missed that.
Easy reason no one played Hots….fucking kiddie pool level mechanics, or lack there of. It was a watered down version of League, which is considered a watered down version of Dota.
The whole lawsuit about "harassments" is entirely bunk on every level, and was purely a means of milking the company (no pun) of its money. Afterwards the company went total Work bullshit and is never going to recover, Shitterfornia based company. The Activision merger was the beginning of the end of Blizzard, as Cata is where the downfall started, and Blizzard has never recovered its fanbase since.
I think I played the diablo demo disk more than anything else until diablo 2. They took forever to bring out the diablo full game.
What made blizzard great were the og developers. Pretty sure they're all gone, at least most of them anyway. So its only blizzard in name but not blizzard in spirit. Honestly they should rename it to not confuse people. But thats what they want.
As much as it pains everyone, Immortal was and continues to be a huge financial success.

I genuinely think all the lies that Blizzard have made over all the years to make a profit should be enough to file a lawsuit for players that have been screwed over by them – they deserve it as they've been taking the piss for far too long and need to pay for their lies

WoW has been a consistent distraction from life since 2007 for me. Never serious, I'm still bad and 100% cool with that.
As a gamer who absolutely despises the RTS genre I sat back and watched the reforging arc with an huge smile.

I played Warcraft 1 on my School computers in 6th grade.
HOTS had a really big playerbase when they pulled all support and cancelled esports.
It failed because they failed to monetize it and chased some dumb lootbox scheme where you got too much stuff for free.
I am an outlier, WoW was not for me. I loved Ultima Online. WoW was a carebear orpg, wasnt hardcore enough. You get to keep your loot
