I use markers to get the main colour and then for the shadows I use pencils, i found that pencils + markers go really well together
If i were to use only watercolors for all my art- i wouldnt be able to draw ANYTHING, most of my ideas come when im school (and criminally bored) and i cant really pull out a whole watercolor set up with brushes and a cup full of water in the middle of math class😅
I like how he changed his shirt for evry medium
I like how you had a shirt for coloured pencils, and one for watercolours, and then you put both on for when you said " What about both?" Thats a cool detail.
Imagine baymax but as a human artist😊
It’s so interesting that you don’t like the paper to show underneath the artwork because I love it when you can see the paper. That just goes to show how many different and interesting opinions there are and how unique everyone’s taste in art is!
I l o v e using mixed media! I’m glad you enjoyed it as well 🙂
my favorite medium IS mixed mediums
She looks like she has a serious sun burne! Ouch…
I love that now he does this all the time
K BUT LIKE I LOVE THE DRAWING OF SIRIUS😭✋
I’ve always been curious about why you use the purplish colored pencil to draw??
I love mixing mediums. It can be a lot of fun. Colored pencils are my favorite traditional art supply but I really enjoy laying down a base color with alcohol markers and then working on top of that with my pencils. You can also use alcohol markers to blend colored pencils. I like using a colorless marker for that. I'm not too sure how lightfastness will be affected by thw markers though because I don't think the markers are lightfast.
For the questions in the start I say.. experiment, just try, it's not a "you can't do it" thing in art, you can try everything, you can switch, you can mix, you can test. You can be free. Art is the best way to see someone's personality shine, see how they draw, what they can draw, what's hard for them to draw, what's not, their tips, their skill, their everything.
I use weird things to blend my colored pencils and crayons! I can put them on any smooth surface if I put a layer of whiteout down first. I drew on my lip balm tin that way then used lip balm to blend it😅
So I animate. And animation is art.
how does medium work for digital
Unbelievable 🤩
Art has no rules. Everything is art.
she looks wonderful.<3
Scott 😃👍
Rip legend! ❤
There's nothing special about this, people have been doing this for years and years… it's called 'Mixed Media'.
Was the second picture sirius black 😮
I’m a digital and a water color artist along with the pencil sketches here and there, so yeah sometimes I do get confused on what my “medium” is
No
Him: Oh it’s just a doodle
The painting : a masterpiece
I absolutely love doing moxed media pieces i dobt understand why some people who like multiple mediums wouldn't at least try it. Hell ive even used construction paper on one of mine
She looks kinda similar to Aniston Lawrence
One good + one good = too good right?
Why is the gauche so satisfying?????
Can u please do anything about star wars???? I love your art!!!!!❤
Me who likes to combine color pencils, watercolor, alcohol markers, water color and acrylics: 😳
This is so good!
Xanadu is my favorite movie she was in, as goofy as it may be ❤🛼
I may be a gen z, but xanadu is still one of my favorite movies. So many young people my age don't know about this awesome movie.
You're a genius. I do love Olivia Newton-John.
That's why I love mixed media art, it's great how well some mediums work together. 😀
😮😮😮 It's Sirius Black
I used to be a purist in college. I did take one class that kinda helped us experiment with different mediums. But honestly seeing Scott's shorts I've pushed myself more to combine my mediums. I've been able to find other different mediums that have been a better go to for my work. I feel like im playing and being more creative like I was when I was in the single digits. I love combining copic markers with pen ink. The luminosity is just 🤌then adding the matte texture from guache or acrylic paint is just delightful.
I used to struggle a lot with digital so I would sketch on paper then do everything else digital. It really helped and now I mostly only draw digitally!
I always thought when I lineart something I can't shade it any more with graphite idk I thought once you used ink you can't use pencil but I combined the two one day and I was astounded how much I liked it now it's kinda "my style" now my two favorite mediums can be together
hi I'm sorry this might sound like a strange request but may you please draw Lucille Ball I'm a huge fan and I'm so sorry if you have already or if it sounds like it might be a bad idea or something I also just wanted to say i love your videos they make me smile and happy thank you so much. : )
Back when I was drawing all the time, I had these Faber Castell water colour pencils. I liked them because the colours didn't go super shiny when I had to saturate them for my crappy scanner. I never did use water with them, though.
Please tell me where I can purchase the ONJ PIC?
Art is about experimentation, taking risks, and self-expression. If you're conforming to what other people tell you to, you may be doing it wrong(and yes, I realize the irony of my statement)(this is not meant to be judgmental, it's meant to be encouraging)
I have a autism too man and I have a experience.. man and you are really kind man👍👍👍
Omgg my theater class at school is doing Xanadu as our musical‼️‼️ I love your art work Scott, it inspires me a lot, it’s funny how I’ve seen this video before but didn’t think much abt who you were drawing until now because now I know what Xanadu is<33
this is my favorite short of yours <33 i'll never forget how much it helped me at the time, i really needed the positivity you're constantly giving away in your videos, so i'll say it again and will continue to do so; thank you, scott! <3
Scott is the type of artist nobody can steal from.
