  2. I think its important to showcase the gruesome things in historic videogames because it's important to show why what happened back then was as horrible as it was. I'm trans and bisexual and imo I think what happened to my people should not be swept under the rug due to censorship. There needs to be awareness so that it doesn't happen again. Swastikas and the horrors of WW2 are something that should always be represented in media surrounding it as a topic. There's also the aspect of artistic freedom which I think should be absolute. People should be able to express themselves in whatever way they desire as long as they don't just go around punching people for example, and that freedom includes art.

  3. Zombies was always a scary game, even when j was a teenager i couldn't play the game alone on bo1 and WAW, in my opinion the reason why BO3 looks so cartoonist is because of graphics, as soon as cod whent to PS4 all the cod games got less scary.

  4. I don't necessarily think the modern censorship is entirely because people are "too soft". Its easy to forget just how differently cultures handle specific types of "taboo" topics. Like the original Silent Hill needing to outright remove an enemy type in the American release because it too closely resembled a child. This kind of thing happens all the time, its because the entire world isn't on the exact same page and can't possibly be expected to be.

There is, at least in part, a point to be made about the "people are too soft now" argument. It's because Call of Duty ends up in the hands of millions of kids the world over. The games will always be rated T or M or whatever, but a lot of parents will still buy the games for their kids. A lot of parents will not bother looking into what the game is about, and if they happen to see a swastika in that game then they'll go off about how the game is promoting nazi beliefs to their children rather than recognizing they were at fault for buying a mature rated game for their child. So Activision would rather just put a more "sanitized" game out there and keep raking in the money from kids than to stand firm in historical accuracy.

Are there people out there who, even if they don't have children, complain about swastikas and stuff in games? Yeah. But I think the amount of people doing that is blown way out of proportion.

  5. Shouldn't germans especially learn of nazis, and not try to censor them
its not like nazis are glorified, they are literally zombies who you kill and consider both evil and scary, for germany to sensor nazis in a world war 2 game is crazy, almost like they are trying to hide their reputation, which actually makes them look bad, since barely any nazis are even alive

  7. Some people don't care but it should be seriously concerning nothing should be retroactively censored and its setting a dangerous precedent cause if they can get away with it with gaming what else are they doing it with

  8. The Islamic Republic Of Germany thinks its HARAM man. That's it. Probably the next step they'll take is portray Nazis as not German at all. They were german speaking freaks or something werent they ? 😀

  9. By censoring history, it will be forgotten. And we will be doomed to repeat it. Nazis exist, ww2 and the holocaust happened. An estimated 80,000,000 people died. Don't forget. So we can make sure it never happens again.

  10. I still question why it’s even still called ‘call of duty’ because it’s in its name to be called to do your duty.
Removing blood and gore and adding all these skins really doesn’t feel like a duty to be called to

  11. It is ironic that censorship in Germany for there disgusting history is the same thing they did back in that day just less strenuous they haven’t changed and are just much worse because they are less tolerant towards others views of them throughout history and now we have to bend our knees to them to make them happy and it’s not just Germany it’s a bunch of others countries and we are now there servants and in debt with them

  12. I think for getting rid of zombies in German waw remember nacht was originally a easter egg at the end of the campaign and treyarch didnt expect it to get much support at all so they were probably just like (eh we'll save some time and money if we just cut it)

  13. Correct me if I am wrong, but not too long ago, in Germany, the law relating to showing Swastikas in video games no longer exists as video games in Germany are by legal definition considered art so therefore cannot be censored as long as they are educational.
