  1. Sidebar, what is the crew most looking forward to seeing at the Combine?

For me, it is the safeties, how much athleticism and talent is present at that position. It is a MAJOR need for the Packers; especially, in light of the new DC's press conference in which he labeled safety as a critical position. In his defensive scheme, he has the "post-safety" operating on his own a lot. It doesn't take much inferring that means a superior athlete.

p.s. I am with Paul and believe in a 'plays great football' as the #1 trait for draft consideration. 🙂

  2. These guys dont know what theyre talking about do they? We're about 20-22 over the cap atm, with room to fix the cap situstion with a couple of offseason moves mack had a monster year, linsley is retiring, and most chargers fans are hoping for bowers or an ol…also, mike Williams is probably gone this year..

  3. Bowers won't go at 5. No team will pay tight ends 30 million on a second contract. That's how it works. Trade back. Get Bowers between 8-11 and pick up another second rounder.

  4. Bowers is not a traditional inline TE. They use him all over the field. They put him outside and throw jump balls to him. He plays in the slot also. He's a big WR who can block.. Also, the "we've seen what happens when you take a TE early" is a casual fan approach. None of the TEs in draft history are better than Bowers so what TEs have done in the past is irrelevant. You can also apply that to ANY position. The chargers took a WR in the first round last year and we see how that worked out. So then why are you taking another WR in the top 10 again? All of the top teams in the NFL. SF, Det, Baltimore ,and KC all have great TEs. It transforms your offense because you cant put a LB on him so it dictates who the defense has to play formationally. Draft Bowers. He's generational. Nabers isn't even top 3 among LSU WRs to come out recently.

  5. Speaking for Charger fans I don't think it's we don't like Bowers it's we don't like him at 5. Trading back and stacking picks is the way to go. Ideally trading back twice and still picking up Bowers in the top 15-20
