The show’s writers are obviously resentful fans didn’t love their “contributions” to the lore.
So, they gave us the Fall of Reach in a patronizing way only to turn around and double down on their OCs…
I can’t believe this show fuckin exists it’s so bad.
This is what happens when corporate greed is allowed to get its mitts on popular IPs with a long history of created lore. It happened to Star Wars when Disney got it, now it's happening to Halo. Which great franchise is next on the destruction agenda? Gears of War?
I'm old. I'm not a gamer. So all this criticism just goes over my head. It's like Trekkers who don't like the new Star Trek shows because it's not canon enough for them. Anyway I am sorry for you and I am sorry for them. But making an attempt to bring Halo to TV has to be applauded. This is a great show for all the rest of us who don't care about the game and don't give a rats ass about Woke.

Ok one more comment. Since we didn't have a conversation between Cortana and Halsey we don't know if she was left behind on purpose allowing the Covenant to take her. This would allow Cortana to infiltrate them. Reach was sacrificed to setup the next strategy in the war. Just saying
I haven’t been keeping up, but basically to sum up, our biggest complaint for season 1 was chief taking his helmet off, and they thought it was a good idea to straight up remove it now?
You forget to mention that with this terrible twist the have deleted Noble team which basically their mission is to secure Cortana!!! AND deliver it to KEYZ!!
Their was a leap of faith to see noble six and maybe, just maybe when reach got glassed maybe we can see if noble six really died or their is story behind and he lived.

Them not being in their armor is ridiculous. Vanek dying without his armor really sucked. Half of episode 3, all the rubble stuff, could have been cut. Put Chief in his armor!!

50 Elites + Makee & a Wraith lands a small stealth ship on the outskirts of the city
They disrupt Comms and Radar for upcoming Glassing but also want to capture 117
They split up to cause chaos and small explosions to draw 117 & Spartans out.
Makees team goes to FleetCom to look for 117.
John & Perez enter a calmer enclosed Mall right outside the Spartan Game Center so gunfire, explosions and even screaming isn’t unheard of.
Camo-ed Elites don’t recognize 117 as John. If he had Mjolnir on, all Elite teams would have converged and Makee wouldn’t have gotten Cortana.
Ackerson took Silver teams Armor bc he hates Halsey. They were her favorites so he took away their toys and left them to die. He plans on regifting the Armors to new spartans and “MasterChief” stays in the fight.
Lazy Elite Tactics are actually smart except they counted on John to be in Mjolnir. They had little time before the Glassing begins and regular humans posed little threat so they were ordered to run around killing and destroying all Willy Nilly while conserving ammo,so Swords Only, until they found 117. Then tactics would change and they would all focus on 117 with everything they got to capture him. So when they found John, they were confused how he was killing them. They called reinforcements in but not all at once and they didn’t think John was The Demon so they ran at him half-assed and got dead. Depleting their numbers to where capturing 117 would be ill advised.
Halsey is going to open a secret door and new Mk. VII Mjolnirs for everybody.
Sadly, the death of Admiral Keyes has Hollywood logic applied to it. He dies along with a lot of other soldiers so the UNSC needs to promote a bunch of new officers including Miranda Keyes and somehow she’ll be the Captain Keyes to take 117 to Alpha Halo and meet the Flood.
Ackerson left Cortana bc he hates Halsey. But he did have a plan for her. Ackerson left Reach short staffed so not many were going to be there to man the big guns when the main Covenant force shows up to start Glassing. So when the Covenant fleet showed up, Cortana would come out of Standby mode and take over the Planetary Defence and fight a losing battle. Ackerson expected Glassing, not a small invasion force first. He wanted Cortana, a cloned A.I. of Halsey, to die failing. Plus once his plan for Halsey and John to die on Reach, how would he be able to trust Cortana.
Makee stops her Elite from killing John bc the Prophets ordered her to capture him without telling her exactly why. She believed that it was bc of their connection with each other and that he could also activate the relics. If she knew the real reason she probably would have done everything in her power, including dropping Cortana then and there if it helped capture John but she thought Cortana was an equal prize and left.
Makee is not Makee. That’s why she should have did anything to get 117 and not Cortana. Who we see is a clone of Makee. And not the first. The Covenant keep cloning her for every mission since the real Makee was shot dead. Just like Ackerson did with his sister. This Makee clone will return to the Covenant with Cortana expecting praise but will be met with anger. She will be confused, get a nosebleed and then drop dead. The Covenant will just clone her again if they need her. The Prophets anger is known only to them and the main Elite in “Makee”s team. Clones of Makee are not Reclaimers!

ima be honest i like this show and this episode is to start to show how Now John not leaving his Armour will make more sense as he would have Trauma that him not wearing Armor in time of fight caused death of 2 of the people whom he cared about.
As a someone who never played halo (I am a gamer but never had chance to play halo) i need to say that for me show is not good but not bad too like 6.5/10. I see that halo players hate it i dont know why but probably games show world totally diffrent than show. I dont get this all hate because John show his face…
I thought it was pretty cool to show Spartans fighting without Mjolnir just to show they're still freakish athletes and soldiers without it, but at the same time lore-wise they shouldn't be able to go toe to toe with Elites like that…
I was getting hopeful for this second series but getting rid of keys and vaanak was a shit move. Why not sacrifice the marine who flew the ship?
Not only have the producers heard about the negative response to MC constantly taking off his helmet, they then spend the whole episode without any uniform. Crazy
@hiddenexperia, do you think they will use this season as a way to rebound from the last? like this episode, chief is injured after not having his armor on. I saw one person say they may use this to justify why Chief never takes off his armor later on. Thoughts?

I am devastated. They aren't giving us anything that we wanted. Fuck these side stories and shit, I just want to see Spartans blasting grunts. Arby n' The Chief is a better Halo than Paramount's Halo.
I predicted that they would be spending this episode getting their armor back before the trailer for it even dropped, and that they'd get it back right at the very end. Never thought I'd end up wishing I was right…
No one is talking about how chief took a fully charged plasma pistol to the chest and while injured, was pretty much still fine. In the street scenes and battle on the bridge we’ve been seeing civilians and marines getting melted by plasma only for chief to take a full one to the chest and not be killed. Surely the only point of having the Spartans without their armour would be that, aside from their incredible combat abilities, they’re essentially as vulnerable as a marine while they’re without it. Completely loses all tension if they can get hit with plasma while wearing a t-shirt and be totally fine about it. Conversely, mention Vannack dies a second later to a single needle round which I actually like. Would have been much better if he interrupted the fight to save Chief and then dies really easily because he has no armour. No plasma pistol to the chest. You can’t have them sometimes be indestructible and the next second be mortal.
It’s genuinely impressive how wrong they’ve made this show, the characters, sfx, abysmal story, it’s just so baffling to me, I’m dumbfounded, why would Microsoft even allow this?
I've got something to say to the community. I've given 343i over 10 years worth of chances don't you guys think we deserve better as a player base ? 343 actually needs to learn from their mistakes. Please don't preorder the next two halo games tbh as backlash for halo infinite. They actually need to learn that actions have consequences. Ik there's new leadership but that might not change anything we haven't seen this "new" 343 hasn't even made their own game yet. I'm not giving these guys a chance they specifically chose to work with a studio with a tarnished reputation as terrible as 343's track record has been. I won't and can't trust them anymore. They literally kept taking advantage of us and kept making call of duty clones including halo infinite and gaslighting us into thinking they were halo games because of the tittle for literally 10 years the boycott should've happened years ago then it actually could've worked. I'm not saying to not buy halo at all just wait until these new games are actually out and well documented to see if these games they make are even worth your money and are even what you want out of a halo game. That's what i'm doing from now on.
Haven't seen Halo…and I don't think I will. I love the games and the book (Fall of Reach) too much, and I want to read the other books in the series. But not the show. And yes…I have liked things everyone says is bad before, but Paramount+ only has a 7 day free trial, which I invested in Strange New Worlds. I didn't hate it, but I don't love it 11.99 a month.
And you know since we got an all chief episode this week, we get an all kwan episode next week
as someone who hasn't played the game the only bad thing in this episode imo is the death of that one spartan I feel like I was just to early and not a rewarding death tho I did find the bird circling his place of death very good I just wish they had hammered home his love for birds (if that's even what it means they didn't do good job with the backstory of him or any character besides the core 4..
Maki being alive burns me up every time I see her face. The fact that Akerson takes all the spartan armor but leave Cortana behind with all that AI and information is another thing that was one of the dumbest pieces of writing I've seen in this show. I honestly don't understand how they took the armor, presumably they took the Halo ring key/artifact as well, but leaves Cortana is a huge head scratcher to me…. Again, Mai is alive…..WHY……So her and Masts-Cheeks can bone once more….?????
I hate that character Maki that is non canon only a girl boss the woke writers created.
