Houthi attacks ‘increasing’ as rebels strike UK-owned ship

Liberal Party Defence and National Security Policy Chair Lincoln Parker says the world is becoming a “dangerous place” as attacks from Iranian-backed Houthi rebels ramp up.

Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility for the assault on a British-owned vessel in the Gulf of Aden.

“The takeaway from this really is that these Houthi attacks are increasing,” Mr Parker told Sky News host Erin Molan.

“We weren’t able to send a single warship to help our allies in the Red Sea.

“The world is a dangerous place and it has become even more dangerous over the last couple of years with all of the wars and all of the conflicts that are going on.”

  2. right at the end "if someone tells you what they are going to do believe them"
Well for the last 20yrs we have heard the Islamic world might not win the battle but they will win the war. Look at the boat people, mostly male. Four wives. Big families. Look who runs tobacco in Australia these days. Barber shops with no eftpos. Wake up. It's all designed. A farm can only run so much cattle and the worlds land mass is treated the same. If there are 8billion people roaming the elites won't corner themselves in a bunker

  4. That's why I always say the US is full of brain-dead zombies who can't handle the truth, they can't even scare a normal Israel and they keep barking like mad dogs. It's hilarious to see a country with a population four times smaller than its enemy. Dreaming is free, but reality bites. Wake up, zombies, or you'll end up like the Roman Empire: in the dustbin of history. Sure, your words make sense, but here's my question: Biden's administration has disrupted the peace that the world has experienced since the Cold War. The actions of the Biden regime are now contributing to a disturbance in global tranquility. Haha, have you heard about this so-called "Bidenomics"? They're trying to sell us this immaterial, worthless talk, and it's just hilarious! 🤣 I mean, this government is like a walking comedy show! People are cracking jokes left and right because it's so absurd. I guess in the 21st century, anything goes, and people will believe anything they're told! 😄The US economy's colossal blunder lies in blindly following the whims of Biden's policymakers, resulting in a series of devastating missteps. Despite the commendable efforts of the current US President, they have made a multitude of disastrous choices driven by a warmongering economic agenda that will further plunge the US into the depths of economic turmoil. The heart of the issue lies in their unwavering trust in Israel and the bewildering ideology propagated by the Biden administration, which has led them astray into an economic quagmire. It is truly disheartening to witness the US, a nation known for its commitment to impartiality and support for the economically disadvantaged, forsake its sacred duty. We all recognize the impending disaster looming ahead, making it all the more urgent for the US to swiftly realign its economic course towards thriving nations and foster relationships with developing countries. The fate of the US's prosperity and global standing hangs precariously in the balance, demanding a sincere and impassioned call for immediate course correction.🙄🙄

  5. So, for your sake, let me give you a heads-up from my side. Step out of spreading this kind of twisted news that confuses people. Of course, I'll also mention that every country has its own selfish foreign policy, determining who they work with and showing less interest in collaborating with others. It's their goddamn business. Here, if you dare to offer advice or suggest cultural assimilation, or share New Age advice with anyone else, it functions like a virus. So, let me tell you, firstly, clean up the mess you have in your own backyard, and then come to offer advice to others. The United States should promptly cease negative practices and refrain from intervention and bullying in other sovereign nations. Such behavior will not bring benefits to the country's future, and repeated interference only reflects a detrimental habit. Allowing Israel to have control over the destruction of Gaza is utterly unacceptable. Witnessing the heartbreaking footage of suffering children and women is a shameful sight. Every U.S. official and military officer involved in warmongering should be held accountable. Eventually, the true essence of the U.S. identity will be revealed, and the downfall of the U.S. Empire is not a matter of 'if' but 'when.' The signs of its decline are evident. Insisting that Israel is not a terrorist country is untenable; referring to it as an Israeli terrorist country is more accurate. I hope you understand my perspective.

  6. The Houthi are backed by Iran, and Israel is backed by the U.S. and some big nations in the West, and you guys keep talking about iran all the time and forget to talk about the U.S. and the West that supports Israel ongoing genocide. The Ukraine War and the War in Gaza already showed the true colour of the U.S. and the west. For those who are still sleeping, please wake up……

  8. No country hates Australia but this Network is hellbent on wanting to be added to conflicts going on thousands of miles from home instead of trying to play peace maker.
The obsession with wanting to please Israel at any cause shows low self esteem .
Most of the world don't see identifying with Bibi as a badge of honor except the Germans of course.

  9. The two US carrier groups incapable of dealing with the Houthis, are being withdrawn to the Pacific. To join the other three carrier groups antagonising China. As for Mr guest speaker, he doesn't mention the United States DOES NOT have an embassy in Taiwan. Nor does he mention the US State Department specifically states in its website Taiwan is part of China. Indeed, the United Nations recognises Taiwan as Chinese territory. Great alarmist warmongering! 11. It was one thing when the Americans sold weapons to Saudis and UAE to bomb Yemen, which of course failed big time. The US is now facing a trap which the Yemenis have calculated very well, it's almost impossible to stop the attacks completely, the US will have to bomb every inch of a vast country and still they won't achieve complete success. But what it will ensure is the US will go trillions of dollars more into debt, a process through which the average American gets poorer and the military industry complex gets richer. But the US national debt is only sustainable if the world continues to rely on US dollar for trade. Once dedollarization picks up steam, the US will be in real trouble for taking up so much debt to wage unnecessary wars in support of a bunch of psychopaths running an apartheid state. I feel bad for the average American Joe who works hard to fund these wars and make some folks richer, while making themselves poorer.

  12. Hopefully Labor will be out next election. BUT in the meantime I don’t believe Australia is going to get any nuclear submarines, more navy ships or any increase in our armed forces whilst Labor is in power.

The success you gained from your barbarism will never happen again. Learn from your evils and start behaving like humans. Leave other people alone.

  15. I mean just stop the war in Gaza and Houthis will stop. Stop supporting the killing of innocent Palestinians civilians and let the aid into Gaza and Houthis will stop, it’s not that hard to understand.
