Multi-million-dollar push to establish a new Institute of Ethics could increase GDP

A 30-million-dollar pitch to establish a new Institute of Ethics could increase Australia’s GDP by “$45 billion per year” claims the executive director of The Ethics Centre Simon Longstaff.

Unions, business groups and Independents including Allegra Spender and David Pocock have joined the push to establish a new Institute of Ethics.

The 30-million-dollar pitch would contribute to more “ethical” policy and more equitable outcomes.

“At the level of the economy an investment of $33 million would lead to an annual increase in our GDP of $45 billion per year,” Mr Longstaff told Sky News of the pitch.

“Not by magic, simply by restoring trust in our institutions.

“There is also key national security implications which is why we have former chiefs of defence backing this because they understand that this is part of Australia’s contribution to developing and deploying its soft power.”

  1. Simon Longstaff is a megalomaniac. Listen to him. He wants to change the entire ethical foundation of Australia. Do you trust government bureaucrats to design an ethical civilization for you? The hubris of this man to think HE is the one to do such a thing. PS ANYONE who claims a 1000% return on investment is a huckster. Give him 33 million and you'll see a return of 45 billion. loll
