  1. When you keep in mind alstor saying he enjoyed (watching people struggle to achieve something meaningful and fail spectacularly), you can see why he looked genuinely happy to see the most optimistic person in hell being broken

  2. 2:12 Vaggie likewise assumed he was after her soul, he just asked for a specific favor. This is probably part of why Alastor is so powerful: rather than asking for souls all the time, he offers far more innocent-seeming deals with mere "favors." Think about it: it'd be easy for him to get millions of people to agree to favors he can call it at any time. That is REAL power.

  3. With a couple of interactions, it makes me want to believe part of Alastor does care to a degree but ik a bigger part of him is a menace that seems desperate to get out of the deal he’s in which I’d bet there would be no line he’d be unwilling to cross to obtain freedom
