Chinese can now invest up to 12,000 yuan($1,830) a year into private pension account

People in China can now invest up to 12,000 yuan a year into a private pension account, following the State Council’s decision to push forward a special scheme.

While it will serve primarily as a supplement to existing pensions paid by the state and enterprises, it should also provide an extra financial guarantee for people in retirement.

Officials say the country’s aging population meant the government had to take action to protect people in retirement.

  1. CPC Government should also have a scheme to assist Over Sea Chinese. It will be a double edged sword. The World will than have the opportunity to see how many Chinese Support CPC Lead Government.

  2. Allowing private ownership in any public sector service is a guaranteed road to ruin. Look at the US, a failed state because everything is privatized. Pensions, health care, education, energy, telecom and military sectors must stay in public domain if China is serious about becoming a new leader in multipolar world. The moment China opens for financial/unregulated capitalism, it’ll mean it’s infected with neoliberal virus and will set itself firmly on the downward trajectory.

  3. Careful you end up with a mini class struggle between those with and those without. That a recipe for fascism. Those with won't share and those without starve…..very divisive policy.
