They were both technically on point but Fantasia kinda met the criteria of distinctiveness which put her slightly ahead of Jennifer at that time as far as winning the American Idol was concerned.
Although I must say the the pure form, Jennifer's voice was just sublime and ahead of Fantasia's.
But both singers were just fantastic. Jennifer's early exit from the competition though was premature in my books.
It’s all in the tone that’s pleasing to the Ear. Both again are great singers but my ear thinks Fantasia. Her summer time was just the best ever

Idol went downhill from this season with unbalanced and lackluster finale. It would have been better had they faced off in the final round. My vote goes to the one with the better voice and wider vocal range. Simon and America got this wrong, definitely.

They are both accomplished, talented singers with great vocal range and skill. Hard to pick one as better than the other as they have different tones and style. Both are successful singers doing what they wanted out of their time on American Idol. Jennifer was an Oscar winner in her debut movie. Fantasia won Idol and went onto Broadway, nominated for a Tony and both had Chart Topping blockbuster first time albums! I love Jennifer Hudson’s powerful and broad vocal range. I love Fantasia for her distinctive vocals and phrasing of many songs. Neither of them will top my all time favorite, tho. ❤Whitney Huston!❤
I love listening to both of them. I put them in the same category as Mariah Carey and Celine Dion! Powerful, talented, gifted, remarkable, beautiful singers!

Jennifer Hudson is an angel of the best because she sing it was fabulous and she is going to win I believe in her love that she is a star of light her voice was the most famous and her singing is a star ⭐ I love her so much more than I love her so she is absolutely beautiful singer in this show she is definitely an incredible artist and she is extremely talented she do high notes it was big wow. Love you Jennifer Hudson ❤🎉😮😊
