Issue with spom is the pressure that the hydrogen is at needs to be higher than 500 g so you always get full packets and most efficient pumping
About that no traditional evolotion chamber rule- how about crab-powered evolotion chamber? I havent seen one of those on youtube, and if its just part of the circle of life there is no need to feel guilty about it
I'm fully a Hydra convert. There's a design I got from Nathan's Sandbox which I can't find a link to that I started with. Now using one that has two electrolyzers, three pumps for O2, and one for hydrogen. For awhile I had only two O2 pumps hooked up and one electrolyzer, but I just hit the point where I needed more from it. They are so nice because they sort the gasses with no issues, but they are definitely more work to set up (since you have to have everything vaccuumed out). My Hydra produces enough power to power itself and my base…standard pre-steel power needs, anyways.
Echo asking why you can't make oxygen masks out of lead just reminds me of Brothgar using lead pipes to fill a soda fountain. You know, for that naturally sweet taste.

Not sure if this is too hard to attempt, but sanishells have not only the ability kill germs in water but also in gases.
You build a breeder ranch to spawn sanishells eggs, and transfer the babies to a ranch room with airflow tiles for the floor and walls to be put to work converting germy gas into clean gas.
You add a few dropplets of water here and there in the ranch and the sanishells will stand on the puddles and filter germs in the 9 squares around it automatically, can be gas or liquid tiles.
It's a very intresting thing to show off.
And it works on any sort of germs or radiation.

My first "long-lasting" colony used smooth hatches instead of metal refinery… I was plenty of fun. I do not recommend it on daily basis but on farmer's colony it would fit
