Labor lashed for ‘changing politics’ with $40 million campaign to ‘spin’ the tax cut story

Sky News host Paul Murray slams the government for “changing their politics” over the decision to spend $40 million on a campaign promoting the changed stage three tax cuts.

“53 per cent of Australians despite all of the noise in the political media have virtually no, or absolutely no knowledge about the too little, too late tax changes this government has introduced to try to save their bacon,” Mr Murray said.

“The numbers are so small it is not going to change anyone’s life but it’s about changing their politics.

“So, what is going to happen? Well, enter other people’s money.”

Finance Minister Katy Gallagher said the government decided to agree to a campaign of up to $40 million over two financial years, concerning the tax campaign, “but that hasn’t been finalised”.

  1. Paul, do not confuse FRV and UFU with CFA. The UFU is only talking about equipment used by the FRV, which is pumpers that are used in metropolitan areas.

For bushfires, you require tankers that are operated by CFA, and UFU does not represent CFA.

  2. Someone please help Paul with basic math lol. 10:20, 4 times 40 is $160, not $120 Paul. Nice try. But please, continue to provide your take on complex national taxation policy while confirming 3 grade math is too hard.

  3. Telling us politicians lie in a system that we cannot change is pointless 🤷‍♂️

We cannot vote on the direct leader of this country. No matter what we vote they just change the leader.

Nothing changes without full political reform in this country!!

  4. Before the BS from the likes of SKY and Murdoch's press governments didnt have to quash the lies and misinformation. Governments used to be trusted, but then Murdoch came along with a right wing ideology, full of lies, misinformation, and fear. Why, so the rich get richer, pay less tax, get massive bonuses while the average Australians works their lives away. Its sad that Labor has to explain good policy and people cant see the BS presented by the likes of Murray.

  5. Murray suddenly is on a left wing Unions side when they have a beef with a Labor Government, but if Victoria had a Liberal Government he would be running the Union down and telling them to "go and jump" it's typical of this far-right cooker on Sky News, which is the Liberal party's anti-Labor propaganda machine to politicize the devastation that a bushfire causes, Murray's right wing bias knows no boundaries and his ethics and morals are floating in a sewage farm near you 💩🤭

  6. It's using taxpayer money to influence votes, for the two upcoming by-elections. Manipulating voters using taxpayers money in an election cycle is voter fraud. If tax cuts not legislated in 2019 their would be no tax cuts, Albanese was forced to give these tax cuts. I consider Albanese the greatest threat to the nation of Australia and the nuclear family in the entire world. He has made an enemy of the people; he has no way out of this and the corrupt MSM are going down with him. He thinks he can manipulate the voter; he thinks he is crafty, and the people of Australia see straight through this monster. Albanese is Australia's Mussolini, he has no escape, he has sealed his fate, traitors get the traitors demise.

  8. Took $1500 from middle australia and now they want us to be grateful for handing back a piddling $16.00/week! Then they want to spend $40m for telling how grateful we must be! They are doing nothing and have done nothing to help australians, everyone else yes but not Australians!
