I’m a Titans fan myself but here’s how I see this discussion. Tiki’s point doesn’t really make sense to me because even if the fans don’t think about the backup, ANYONE calling the shots of an NFL franchise should ABSOLUTELY know the importance of a quality backup. Being blind to the possibility of a 40 year old QB being injured is absolute stupidity. You better believe myself and many other Titans fans were absolutely aware of how screwed we would have been if our aging QB, Tannehill, got injured and the season rested on Willis’s shoulders. Thankfully Carthon took steps to address that issue. We wound up sucking anyway but fortunately Levis wasn’t the main issue.

If someone fails in your organization, they did not fail as a person, you failed as a leader because you did not establish a standard and enforce it. The Johnson's have the 2nd worst records for owners who have owned a team for 20 years or more. They just beat out Snyder ex Redskin owner. The Johnson's have no identity in football. They are known for losing and hiring coaches every 4 to 5 years. The Johnson's lack of leadership every year trickles down to the GM, which trickles down to the coaching staff. If the owners don't care, why should anyone else.
The quarterback situation was an issue because Woody Johnson allowed a man without a resume or track record to carry on playing for the team he owns. As everyone is aware, Tim Boyle has no business playing in the NFL since, when it came time to decide on the backup quarterback's salary, both Woody Johnson, the owner, and the general manager, John Douglas, possessed alligator arms when it was time to sign the check and both chose to instead, throw a boatload of cash, for an out-of shape Dalvin Cook, who was about as useful as rubber lips on the woodpecker. Finally, some of us have forgotten that # 2 was supposed to redshirt and learn last season. LOL
Further proof that Woody Johnson has no business being an NFL owner whether it's the Jets or any other 31 teams. If he had even a semblance of some football acumen like an Al Davis or a Jerry Jones, maybe Woody and the Jets would be a more competently competitive football team with another SB trophy and perhaps clinched a playoff berth by now instead of an embarrassing off-season soap opera.
I think your assessment does not account for the fact that Hackett's offense appears to be GEARED only for Aaron Rodgers….and Zach Wilson appeared to be the most capable QB to adjust to this situation.
So essence, Woody Johnson's pursuit of Aaron Rodgers was NOT the best decision.

This is a Joe Douglas issue. He’s simply just not good at his job. Saleh is horrible too but this is the fault of the person who puts the team together. Not only don’t we have a backup QB we also really don’t have a starter. Aaron Rodgers will probably not last the season and quite frankly all the other issues he brings to this team makes him simply not worth it. The jets needed to find their qb in the draft. They went in on ZW and it failed miserably.

They make a weird point that backup QBs never mattered until about 5 years ago. How is that the case? For years, one could crush the QB. Then Tom Cheaty got hurt one year, and suddenly it was, "you can't touch The Queen", lest it's unnecessary unsportsmanlike roughing the passer. And now rule after rule, can't hit the QB low, or high, or fall on him, or late, or early, or in the pocket, or out of the pocket, or when he slides, or fake slides like Josh Allen….
