The whole thing about why didn't Leia just transmit the plans to the rebels–I think–has a far simpler answer. The plans had an internal program (which could not be removed) that instantly informed the Imperial galactic network where the plans had been sent from, and where the plans were being sent to. This is why that officer on Vader's SD says with absolute confidence, "And no transmissions were made."
As for why Leia didn't switch ships when she knew the Falcon was being tracked, she was anxious to get the plans to the rebels. Landing somewhere and arranging another transport would allow Imperial agents and bounty hunters another shot at finding her.
How to completely make up barely plausible explanations to things that don’t need any, or mere mistakes/laziness in writing the prequels (and series) that resulted in loopholes that originally weren’t there.
I always figured 3PO pretended not to know who Leia was because he’d moved on and was scared after walking in the desert and being abducted and sold, so he thought his best surviving plan was to serve his new master

I love this new way to answer questions from a movie in a compilation video, perfect for new Star Wars fans who just recently saw the movies and I have to congratulate the effort and dedication you have put into this long video as also the updating of the star wars timeline video each year. I always chalked up the aging of Obi to the climate and the STRESS. Look how the presidents age now. Imagine hiding the chosen kid from the empire kissing moment I saw okay is Tarkin kissing too much on his hand lot okay and another people are doing it just now so the girls were not happy He did touch her face trying to kissing her so I find out what happened okay he on live chatting with her is true in Rangers of the new Republic war in two show is confirmed okay check it out on the video clearly is truly done is playing now on the setup he did done this week.
Great video! Missed a few things:
1. Why didn't Vader sense who Leia was? OK, he wasn't a mind reader, but–come'on!–she's right there! Her connection to the force should have set off alarm bells at least!
2. Why did the Imperial troops slaughter those Jawas? The obvious answer is they are nasty, no-good SOBs, but –seriously! Park your garrison in front of the sandcrawler, demand to see the boss, and ask about the driods! I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you everything. Killing them all and staging a Sandpeople attack seems like a serious waste of time.
3. How did one torpedo nuke the DS#1? Yes, it was designed that way by whats-his-name, but that still doesn't answer the question. We've all seen the funny video "The Death Star Architect Speaks Out" from Dorkly. (I actually have an answer for this one. It amazes me that no one remembers the line, "Set up a chain reaction that should destroy the station." Luke's perfect, force-driven shot blew up something small, that blew up something bigger that blew up something even bigger and on and on and on until the the BIG BOOM at the middle.)
4. "We've analyzed their attack, and there is a danger…" WAIT WHAT?! After the first attempt, the Imps knew that a perfect shot would blow everything up? So, why didn't they park 100 TIE fighters around that thing! And Tarkin says, "You underestimate their chances." –so he *knew* this was a 1/100,000,000 long shot? Or was he just so confident that Vader was gonna pown all those rebels out there? Inquiring minds need to know!
Don’t need BS answers that were made up later to please starving fans.
How many days does it take to make a year, on a planet in a galaxy far far away? We keep thinking earth years when it's wrong. So, 19 years here could be 29 years there. That is why I think they aged so fast between trilogies.
