It's FINALLY Here and I CRIED in 10 Minutes… | God of War Ragnarok | First Playthrough [1]

It’s finaly here! Our God of War Ragnarok FIRST PLAYTHROUGH begins now! No one warned me I would cry right away so let’s hope there aren’t anymore emotional moments lol. Side note: as always please keep the comments spoiler free, all it does is ruin potential reactions that you may have wanted to see! I ask a lot of questions, I don’t want answered. The first episode or two may be a little bumpy with the playthrough as I’m coming fresh out of retro gaming with the God of War 1-3 playthrough so just join me on the struggle bus while I adjust 🙂

  1. It is said with Fenrir's death right at the beginning, but I really think it serves a major purpose for the rest of the game. Just like Faye's funeral did in the 2018 game. It gets us the players to feel for the main characters right away. I mean Kratos and Atreus are about to do things that no human being can do. They're about to take on gods, monsters and perform superhuman feats of strength. It would be nearly impossible for us to connect with these characters in any way.

But you "humanize" them by showing how they're affected by a loss. A lose that we can all identify with. Loss. You show these larger-than-life characters hurt emotionally and now despite having abilities we can never expect to have we can connect with them.

  2. Kratos can literally not get rid of the Blades of Chaos. He's tried. In comics and in the novelization of the 2018 game they describe instances where he tried to leave them. But every time he falls asleep, they show back up again. He is cursed with them.

  3. They say the name of the sled dogs, but when I saw them in the game's trailer, I gave them the nicknames of "Cry" and "Havoc" and I still haven't stopped calling them that.

As in "Cry Havoc and let slip the Dogs of War."

  4. 1:29:01 The first thing Kratos grabs is the piece of the Giant's chisel from the last game. He got that right after killing Magni. The second is the stone/item that Brok gave Kratos in the last game that allows Kratos and Atreus to travel through the realm between realms. Aka fast travel in the last game.

  5. Great video Throughout except that one comment about Thor he’s not a coward he didn’t run away he had to go odin said it himself “don’t take all day”. Basically he has to end the fight satisfied and he has instructions to not kill him and Kratos give him a big punch and that’s that just to say something cause you’re wrong about Thor Being a coward, the rest of the video is fine. I do hope you continue Playing this game And see what in stores for you

  6. Hello, I've been watching the whole trilogy since you started god of war 1, and it's been quite a journey for you and a beautiful one, the only thing i wanted to say it's to just press once to open the shield to block or parry in time, you might forgot but you were pressing to open the shield 2 times and perform a shield bash insted of blocking 😂

  7. I hate u watched that Greek saga video. How much u want to watch the cutscenes? Cause if u want a emotional roller coaster watch the cutscenes. Not some guy who was doing his job and didn't give to craps about the story.

  8. Right after mjolnir and the leviathan axe's clash that makes the frozen lightning bolt the music gives us that "you never fpught someone like this before" feeling to it especially in the percussion drums also the punch right after Thor mouths off about atreus when the slow motion happens it meant Kratos quit holding back and let out a full strength punch

@VideogameShayPlays More like he was disappointed of your mediocrity (plus gave time for Odin to talk with Atreus/Loki); 😆Thor literally had to revive your QTE-whinin' butt, lol.

😀You'll get better. Can't wait to see how much you'll master the parrying & whatnot.

  11. It's kinda interesting that they made Odin, Thor, the norse gods speak more "modern" and casual, they even say fuck and shit. While Kratos and all the greek gods speak formal and ancient-like in the originals. You noticed that?
    Anyways, awesome playthrough!

  12. 6:50 he can’t toss the blades or destroy them he’s tried everything he could leave them, thrown them in the water everytime he wakes up they appear right next to him he’s tried everything to get rid of them doesn’t work he’s grown to accept it

  13. 58:42 To answer your question, the sun and moon wolves in Norse Myth are named Skoll and Hati and in Norse Myth they're the children of Fenrir. Of course in GoW there are some differences to the actual mythos
