China is 30 to 40 years behind the US. The US subs have followed Chinese subs on multiple occasions and Chinese subs never knew they was there.
The fact that the US' s 4th Gen fighters are nearly as threatening as China's 6th Gen fighters, plus the 5th and 6th Gen fighters we can air….. good luck China.

The greatest challenge can be seen in the world news right now. US allows its self to be influenced by world opinion. Look at how much world opinion is against Israel right now in their operation to end a threat and recover kidnapped citizens. If USA fought China soon in the conflict would be international reactions including a potential of nuclear terrorism thanks to russia and iran beyond just the politics.
As we can see from the war in Ukraine I’m pretty certain that our boys are paying attention to the drone warfare.
Not to mention, NGAD and the b-21 raider will be coming online.
One area not discussed is the effect of China's one child policy enforced for many years on its population. Many of them are sons who grew up spoiled as the only child and not really thrilled about dying in a war. Then again, a ground offensive would probably not be in China's best interest even though they outnumber virtually every other country except India.
Even if by some miracle they got entirely through the US military. They'd then have to get through about 50-100 millions America before they remake the entire military in a year or so.
You can win a whole war from JUST having air superiority, also China’s navy ships are averagely 30% smaller than the US’s ships.
China might have more boats, but US has far more tonnage. China has roughly 825,000 Tonnes while US has like 3.7 million If im remembering correctly

The US Navy has over 3x the floating tonnage then China. China counts everything that floats as a Navy ship…Even row boats.
The US has the first and second largest air force, the US Air Force and the Navy respectively.
China has no stealth aircraft, they have 3.5 gen reduced visibility aircraft. The US has over 400 F35s…not to mention the F22s.
China has water in their missiles and feeble-minded leaders. The war would be like Greta Thunberg trying to box Tyson Fury. 😂 If the fighting started tonight, it would be over before my morning piss.
China's A2AD strategy is dead on arrival. They can't even hit the mock US carriers they have out in the dessert. Imagine one that's moving with aegis systems not to mention submarines. The US would win hands down.

The stuff u see online is already outdated, the rail gun was on ships for 15 years before anyone new about it and they were testing lasers on board ship while I was in 30 years ago. The rest of the world is 20 years behind.
Cruise misses from 60,000 feet, China ships and bases don't stand a chance.
China one child policy makes them have less young people to take care of the old, they have an aging population, not war fighters and workers.

If the US military shows the world what it has, you can believe that it's old technology and they are 8 revisions in and far more advanced technology.
We do in sheer tonnage that's because we don't count every p.o.s. vessel with a gun strapped to it as a war ship!
Don't forget that the American military is way more advanced then they let on. By the time the general population hears about something, the military has already been using it in secret for 10-15 years.
17:50 On the topic here that you're working through, regarding how the wartime strategies of China and the US with relation to Japan, there's a decent joke which I've heard told a few times throughout the years here in the U.S.A., and it goes (roughly) like this:

China MIGHT have the most ships in it's fleet, BUT, the only thing that means is that instead of demoloshing China's navy in 4 days, it might take 5 or 6 days, China's navy is little more than TARGETS for the U.S. Navy. As far as the Air Force goes, this guy CORRECTLY states that China's Air Force is the 3rd largest, the 1st largest is the United States Air Force, the 2nd largest is the United States Navy. and with a newer guidance package for our Mark 82, 83, and 84 general purpose bombs, it will not only be the U.S. Navy wiping out the Chinese Navy, the USAF and USMC will also get in on the action. "Control of the Airspace is 90% of any war", whoever controls the sky, wins the war. China's population entering a decline was inevitable, when the Chinese government, passed the law 40 years ago, that maried couples could only have a single child, the abortion rate in China skyrocketed, as parents would voluntarily abort their babies as soon as they found out it was going to be a girl, and as soon as they gave birth to a baby, that was their 1 child, and both parents were fixed, daddy got a vasectomy, and mommy got her tubes tied, as was required by law, for the past 30 years, inside of China, for every girl that was born, 19 boys were born, it was only a matter of time before the population started to decline in raw numbers, now that we are seeing the beginning of the population decline, I am wondering if and when the government will reverse or get rid of that law, within the next 40 years, as of right now, HALF of China's population will disappear maybe more than half, right now we are seeing the shortsightedness of this law, of course married couple want to have a son to carry on the family name, and couples knowing that having a daughter means the end of that family name, but it is a biological fact that men can NOT reproduce without a woman, the damage done to China's breeding pool may have already been done, and the full effects will not be seen for another 30 to 40 years, but I would guess that in as little as 50 years, China will be forced to endure a population crisis, as their population will likely fall below 500,000,000 within that timeframe. the United States would not suffer from this population decline, as we can still have as many children as we wish to have here, NOW, I spent 11 years serving my country in the military, and my opinion is that in a shooting war between the U.S. and China, (AS LONG AS IT IS ONLY THE U.S. AND CHINA) is a war that will be incredibly violent and bloody, but it will also be very short, U.S. Attack submarines would be the sharp point of the spear, and would very quickly decimate a significant portion of China's Navy beginning with their subs, as well as a big chunk of their active Navy, import shipping, I would say within a week, more than 50% of China's navy would be brand new reefs somewhere in the Pacific Ocean or South China Sea, these attacks would be done quickly/silently and thouroughly, while this is going on, U.S. intellignece would be getting very detailed and accurate co-ordinates for their long range surface to surface missile systems, and our re-purposed Ohio Class submarines (SSGN), 4 of our Ohio Class submarines had to be retrofitted to comply with the SALT II treaty, removing the 20 trident missiles that is normally carried on our Ohio Class (SSBN) into the (SSGN) the SSGN now carries 22 silos instead of 20, and each silo houses 7 long range Tomahawk cruise missiles, for 154 total for each of those 4 submarines, that is more than 600 targets that could be hit in very rapid succession, and they would shower down on those missile sites with a HUGE number of Tomahawk missiles neutralizing that threat, once that particular threat was verified as neutralized, then our Aircraft Carrier battle groups would be able to come closer into striking distance, as well as the USAF from locations in Japan, South Korea, Okinawa ECT. as the USAF, USN, and USMC, would deal with the Chinese Air Force directly, once that threat gets neutralized, then the round the clock bombing of military and industrial targets would comence, aircraft manufacturing facilities, shipbuilding facilities, and weapons manufacturing facilities would all systematically be reduced to piles of rubble, now there will be losses on the U.S. side, and those losses will not be light, but they will not be heavy either, but they would likely be fairly light, the Chinese side though would suffer very heavy losses, of submarines, ships, cargo, weapons, facilities to build new stuff, and INFRASTRUCTURE, combine that with the already dwindling population, and a shooting war with the United States could seal China's fate to return to the time when they would becomen a sorry 3rd rate country again, now this is already likely to happen, even without an armed conflict, but a shooting war with the U.S. would radically accelerate that process, it is estimated that 100 years from now, there will be more Chinese people living outside of China than inside of China, with their current population makeup, they definately have the numbers to become a military powerhouse, if even for a very short period of time, but 30 years from now, they will have lost even that ability. the truth is for the United States, the very best way to defeat China is do NOTHING, they are already doing more than what is necessary for them to destroy themselves.
In America… You get what you vote for and we've lost our minds in 2016 and Congress is now full of clowns leaving us in serious danger!. A vote is a terrible thing to waste.

It would be messy indeed. Also remember, that in any 1to1 comparisons of China and the US, they don't consider that America would only be using 20-40% of its assets because there are other dumpster fires around the world we are trying to solve at the same time. Not only that, our allies would be few and far between outside South Korea, Japan, and maybe the Philippines. Europe is more favorable to China these days, so NATO would be out. Canada and Australia are even more friendly with China, so the world would abandon us. It's a lose/lose scenario for the US really… If we help our friends in Taiwan and win, NATO and AUKUS is over and Europe comes to China's aid and a China/Europe Alliance is formed. If we lose, enemies take advantage of us by starting new conflicts against a weakened US, and Europe turns on us anyway (with exceptions being the UK, Finland and maybe Poland). A majority of Europeans couldn't care less about the United States or Americans, they want to be in bed with the most powerful because most can't defend themselves. It's a sad truth. Germany, for example, had a poll and China was ranked +20 points above the US in favorability – the highest, but it's a mindset thats spread thick across Europe. Even worse, if China wins and takes Taiwan, they continue taking all the Nations in the S China Sea and really attack Japan hard. North Korea gets the all clear from China to invade South Korea… and the evil/violent spread of Communism will continue at a more feverish pace that is already has. Gen Z is already the most socialist/communist loving generation in history. Lets all hope China can keep their Taiwan boner in their pants.
The US has always had a military strategy of having technology and weapons that have not been made public. If you look into the history of what we have in our arsenal public is 50 years behind what we really have. Don’t forget our space force.

America does have the worlds largest navy. Look at it by tonnage.
