1. Mundaka Upanishad | Mantras 1.1.1 – 2 | Swami Sarvapriyananda

Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches the Mundaka Upanishad which one of the major Upanishads belonging to the Atharva Veda. Mundaka means ”shaved” like a shaved head. The teachings revealed in this Upanishad are meant to leave the student clean, or shaved of the veil of ignorance. Indeed, the study of this Upanishad has been traditionally confined to the shaven-heads, or the sannyasins, who have renounced everything and devoted themselves exclusively to contemplation. The book consists of 64 Mantras (verses) split across Mundakas (parts) and Khandas (sections) as follows:
Mundaka 1 – Khanda 1 – 9 mantras (1.1.1 – 1.1.9)
Mundaka 1 – Khanda 2 – 13 mantras (1.2.1 – 1.2.13)
Mundaka 2 – Khanda 1 – 10 mantras (2.1.1 – 2.1.10)
Mundaka 2 – Khanda 2 – 11 mantras (2.2.1 – 2.2.11)
Mundaka 3 – Khanda 1 – 10 mantras (3.1.1 – 3.1.10)
Mundaka 3 – Khanda 2 – 11 mantras (3.2.1 – 3.2.11)

ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.

ABOUT US
Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order’s first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

  1. “An appearance of actions can fully be combined with the reality of Brahman” – this line alone itself is capable of making one Self realised. Swami ji 🙏🙏🙏🙏

  4. My Dear Dear Swamiji! I have always wondered about meditation vs ritual when it comes to Hinduism. A friend of mine just invited me to attend a Hindu temple with her. She is a fellow meditator of kriya yoga through our guru Paramahansa Yogananda. I've been practicing kriya meditation for 33 years and have always wondered why there were no rituals practiced at the SRF temples. It is true they do Arti when a new temple is dedicated and during Diksha ceremonies, but other than that no rituals. My dear sir you just answered my question as to why there is an absence of ritual. I thank you for explaining it.

  6. Namaste everyone, I'd like to kindly ask: Does the current Minister Swami of Vedanta New York, have the time to translate all 108 Upanishads in English with commentary?

If not, then could Vedanta New York Team, or more Vedanta organisations, hire more than 10 ADVAIDA Swamis/correctly educated Sanskrit ADVAIDA Veda scholars, who can work as a team to translate all 108 Upanishads with commentary too in English?

As each Swami translating and giving detailed English commentary on 2 Upanishads is not too much of a difficult time consuming task.

All 108 Upanishads have been translated from Sanskrit to Hindi to English, with detailed commentary by Siri Ajai Chhawchharia, how accurate is the English translation and commentary according to numerous Swamis?

All 108 Vedic Upanishads with English translation and explanation are available in numerous volumes, by

AUTHOR:SRI AJAI KUMAR CHHAWCHHARIA, PUBLISHER:CHAUKHAMBA SURBHARATI PRAKASHAN, EDITION:2021ISBN:9789380326016, etc.

One Hundred Eight Vedic Upanisads Vol 1: Upanisads of Rgveda (Sanskrit Text with Transliteration, English Translation and Explanation), etc.

Is it possible for Swamis to teach all the volumes of complete English translation with English explanation commentary of all 108 Upanishads by Siri Ajai Chhawchharia?

And is it possible for English speaking Swamis to translate Upanishad Brahmayogin Rāmachandrendra Sarasvati's commentaries on all 108 Upanishads into English?

    Thank you, Peace for everyone.

  7. Sir with due respect…
Why to know? what to know…
As in my opinion most people in this world don't even know about this. So it's not built-in to know about the self and the higher self. Or God

  10. at 38 minutes Japanese archery for meditation is mentioned, it took me back to my work. I was a software engineer, I went through a period where I would concentrate so deeply on my work where I would drop into meditation, I know because the terror that would follow, very brief flash.
I had my first experience of oneness at age 11, I was reciting a mantra….. "cupboard", I don't know why, I just used to do weird mind things, I even would occasionally stare at a wall and observe how everything would go black , my mind would startle then too, but the "mantra" took me to oneness. I have experienced nirvikalpa at age 49 while walking to work, it was after this I started understanding, then several years later found Ramana Maharshi's teachings. I am now 58, I still have work to undo but it is progressing.
